Happy St Patricks Day

I know I said last night that I would post the other challenges I completed for the cyber crop BUT I have been in front of the computer all day and basically I am over it and too tired - sorry!

So instead - My EX husband is Irish, did I mention he is my EX?, so to acknowledge my angels heritage I have the following video for you. I have been in Ireland on Paddy's Day and that was quite an education. Every town has its own parade, and the guiness is certainly flowing. The hardest choice is to decide which pub to go to. My EX husbands home town has a population of something like 10,000 people and there was 28 pubs, and that didn't include the golf club and other sports clubs etc. And I tell ya some of the best Irish jokes I have heard was when I was in Ireland! You got admire them, they can laugh at themselves.

So to be sure to be sure and ENJOY

PS Not bad dancing from a 40 year old ah? Oh and Mark just watched it and reckons he looks like a girl (the one with his real head!) ROFL

Vintage / Heritage Layout

So what is your impression when you think heritage / vintage styled layouts? Me? Well usually I think there are photos from past generations you like with people who are well over 70 years old with lovely brown papers, laces and wooden buttons etc etc. Well thats how I view them anyway.

Okay so late late late last night (there is a reason for me emphasing the lateness as you will see further down), I completing a layout for a challenge over at Ready, Set, Scrap from the cyber crop last Friday night.

Now the theme is to think of a Cappuccino as your inspiration for the colours and must also include hand cutting, stitching and lace.

So insistantly I think heritage style! I got my cafe culture paper pattern from Kaisercraft (gorgeous browns and creams) found some lace, dragged the sewing machine out (like I have the time to hand stitch there are 9 challenges to get done in 5 days!) and some wooden old brown buttons and created this page.

Now what I did was tear the backing pp and for the dotted pp I put it under the tap and wet it all over (yeah I know I was horrified the first time I did this) scrunched it up and then god forbid I found this thing, an electrical contraction covered in dust, they call ........... "brace yourself"..................an iron! Its okay, read on, I will quickly change the subject.

I then got a teatowel to put the wet scrunched up paper in between then ironed it! After that "thing" cooled down I quickly put it back behind a pile of clothes under the stairs.

Once the pp was dry I stuck it down and then planted my foot down on the sewing maching, without cotton, and stitched around the botton layer of pp. I did do some real stitching, as required, all 10 stitches of them, 3 on the centre of one of the flowers and some on the side border of the photo mount. The leaves, all 3 of them, were hand cut, scrunched up again and then inked. There was a lot of scrunching going on, I wonder what I was thinking about when doing this page?

Now anyway my point of this whole blog was to talk about old people and doing the hertiage theme. So here I am finishing it off by sticking down the lace and wooden brown buttons and OMG .... OMG ...... OMG ...... the fricken photo I am using .........is me! (I just heard my mother and sister shriek with laughter then!) I actually can't type what I was thinking at the time and I still can't put it into words. Lets just say it wasn't good. I mean I am only 40 and already I am doing this type of layouts for my baby photos!!!

I did consule myself in the fact that I was up really really late so I had stamina and so far I don't need any reading glasses. Its the colour of the photo I tell myself that went so nicely with this pp(ignoring the inner voice telling me they probably didn't have colour film back then)! This sort of justification kind of worked for me!

I was too distracted after that, that I quickly finished it and went to bed, no not sulking, I'm not 2 years old, just fricken 40 year old with black and white baby photos!

I did finish all 9 challenges, including a COLOURED photo of me, which I will post tomorrow. Its late and I have neglected the house for 5 days so I better do a speedy clean up before hitting the sack.

Nite all

Rusty Pickle Pattern paper in stock

We have a limited supply of Rusty Pickle Pattern Papers in stock. I have the Pop Star Range where are just awesome papers in black & white and doubled sided.

I love them, apart from them being black and white which I find stunning, they are funky and you can cut out many of the shapes on the patterns and use them. If you are anything like me, you will love colouring in the patterns. I blame my mum, and my deprived childhood for never having textures, just boring coloured pencils so I am making up for it now with hundreds of them - its a bit like never having a barbie doll until I was 35 years old but thats another whole blog!!!

Rachelle Minnet is a great example of using these papers and you will find her link on my blog list.

If these papers prove to be popular, then I will look into stocking them as a permanent line.

I am off to finish my challenges for Ready Set Scrap and then create some layouts with these papers.

Till next time

Buzz and Bloom New Arrivals

Today I received a shipment of gorgeous chipboards from buzz and bloom and 3 types of clear stamps.

First the chipboard.

Ranges in sizes and prices and I just can't wait to start using them. Actually I couldn't wait and already used some of the flowers from "up the garden path" range on a challenge from the crop night last Friday over at Ready Set Scrap. We had to create an OTP project using 3 insects (too easy with our charms), 3 flowers (another easy task) and ribbons (it is just getting too easy) oh and then it got harder - I had to use my brain and create something.

So...

Introducing my new brads and bling storage box

I inked the flowers then coated them with Kindy Glitz and centred them with a rhinestone, rhinestud and a pink crystal brad.
The flower up the top with our butterfly charm on it, is from the Buzz and Bloom Blame it on the Sunshine Flower Range.

So far we have 11 sets of chipboards and hoping to stock more varieties in the coming weeks.

The clear stamps are just awesome. 2 sets are small enough for your journalling and page titles. I have used the tubby alphabet on the front of my box to label Brads and Bling. With being able to use the small sets over and over will save money instead of buying so many rub ons or using my yukky handwriting!

Slight problem thought - I need another one made up - kind of have more bling and brads than I thought!

I am off to play some more
Till next time

A Little Silliness

Look at this gorgeous layout that the talented Tracey (yes with an "e") completed, from over at Ready, Set, Scrap! Top 50 Scrapbook Sites, where she has used the my2angels felt frame and felt hearts.

I made a right spectacle of myself when I saw it up in the gallery (thankfuly no one was around to see me carry on like a pork chop) - well I don't often see creations with my products being used, just my own layouts.

The beautiful frames she is used are $4.80 for a packet of 2.

And the unique felt hearts engraved with the word love can be found in our felt shapes section for 12 @ $3.20. And they are have pop dots on the back of them, which is pretty handy dandy.

HUGE thank you, Tracey, for making my week and allowing me to show your beautiful and "silly" page on my blog.

As a suggestion I have also printed them out and they are kept in a folder so they are always on hand when I get stuck for ideas (well thats if I can find the folder amongst the ridicious mess on my table)

If you would like a word processing version of these quotes please send me an email at info@my2angels.net and I will send you a copy.

Have a great week
