Another Off the Page House to share

And the house obsession continues…

This is for Jo's OTP Challenge over at Aussie Girls Gone Scrappin
Oh and importantly I might add she also made the house up for me in her workshop (she also makes the birdhouses available over at my2angels)

I used Websters Pages Classic Beauty Pattern Paper to cover the house and also to make the trees (or umbrellas as the rest of the household though they were!!!). Already been asked how to make these trees so I will get some photos of that to post asa I can

For the smoke from the chimney I used our silver rhinestone scroll and cut around the backing sheet and inked it with timber brown stazon ink
Around the base of the house is my version of flower soft (more details further down)
Moving up to the roof, I used scrapware chipboard vines which I sprayed with Creme de chocolat glimmer mist (will be back in stock before the New Year) and green inked around the leaves.

Made a nest out of small strips of pattern paper and dead branches from the garden for the scrapware bird minus the branch to sit in.

I covered the bird with our pale blue glitter

Wishing well is made from matchsticks (painted and inked), with a little lid used for the bucket and a silver jump ring. The water is blue tulle, little bit of our blue glitter and some dimensional magic dribbled into it
Also wrapped our blue stemmed flowers around it

I made a pathway cutting the pattern paper in random widths and inked edges. The door mat is distressed around the edges and then I covered with crackle paint. Above the door I used Scrapware Mini Baroque Trim, pearl for door handle and our jandals / thongs and high heel charms.

Organza Ribbon (inked brown)
Heart Rhinestone Buckle
8mm Ivory Pearl Beads and dimensional magic to hold them in place (used the wire/string that they come on)

String flowers at the back were easy peasy – I applied 3mm double sided tape to the string and rolled it around – the stems are match sticks inked

I downloaded the girl looking in the window from clipart
Also foam taped was used on random pieces of inked pattern paper to give a brick like wall

Green, Brown and Rose mulberry leaves
Gardenia from our romance pack
Dark Pink Stemmed Flowers
To make your own flower soft you need a grater and polystyrene.

WARNING: prior to beginning ensure you have a very clean wide open space to work in, NO COUGHING or SNEEZING or OPEN WINDOWS WHERE A BREEZE can come through during this project!. Oh and don’t spray glimmer mist directly onto it unless glued down already – its amazing HOW IT FLIES … EVERYWHERE! (oh I know it is obvious! but at 3am you don't always think of these things!)

Okay now just grate away and make a massive mess! It’s cheaper by far but as you can tell by the above warnings it is abit of an undertaking LOL

To colour it (after my first attempt and cleaned up the mess!)I put it into a little jar and sprayed with glimmer mist but food colouring should work just as well – I am sure there are easier and cleaner ways but in the early hours of the morning that was all I could think of at the time!
One more house to complete then perhaps I will move onto another obsession... well maybe LOL

The next house is a different one from scrapware, not yet up on the website but will be in stock in the New Year on our new site.

To each and everyone of you, a big THANK YOU from the bottom of my heart for your support, comments and encouragement you have given me throughout the year. I can't express what it means to me.

This will probably be our last blog post for the year, not sure if I will get a chance to be back before the end of the year. The new website is a huge task and I don't expect it to be up and ready until the 4th/5th January but we are still operational and I am around but may not get to your emails as quickly as I would like to.

I hope you all have a very Merry Christmas and look forward to seeing you all safely in the New Year.

Off the Page Christmas Scene

I have so much fun creating this Santa Lane OTP Christmas Scene and I surprised myself as it only took a couple of days!

For once I am happy with the end result and DD loves it so much while I was making it she kept checking in on me to see what else I had added. I still can't decide whether to add some brown bling chain around the edge or just leave it as is.

I orginally made it for a centre piece for the table, and created it so whatever way you looked at it you didn't see the back of a flower or whatever. But you know Christmas morning, the wine, little fingers, the chaos etc etc so its safely placed on a shelf!

I used the Scrapware Wisteria Lane Kit
Pattern Papers for both of the houses is from Jenni Bowlin Studios

I added our Christmas Stocking charm to the front door and aged our bike charm with Timber Brown Staz on Ink

I made a little set of curtains for the back of the house from our cotton lace and tied with brown organza ribbon
For the fence I used scrapware baroque trim chipboard and adhered them onto ice block sticks, which were painted cream, inked and sprayed with Glimmer Mist.

For the trees I covered cones (brought from spotlight) with our cotton lace, coffee brown glass seed beads and topped with our brown embossed felt star (sprayed with glimmer mist).

The middle tree is painted pink then covered with our pink skeleton leaves and topped with bows made from pink organza ribbons and 2 of our bell charms.

I wrapped tuelle around the little tree (sprayed with Pink Taffy Glimmer Mist), pink rhinestones and topped with our pink scroll felt star and kindy glitz.

Also added our present charms, ribbon bow charms and reindeer charm, large heart locket charm and scrapware mini holly under the trees with the presents

I made the seat out of ice blocks stick and inked again with with Timber Brown Staz on Ink. Lots of mulberry flowers, dragonfly charm, pearls and rhinestones. For the sign post I used the negative part from the sheet of windows (from the House kit) and added antique brown jump rings.

Here I cut off the flower (yuks) from the scrapware sunflower (to use another time) and added one of our pink mulberry flowers and centered with our brown wooden buttons.

And now on to my Christmas cards - I can't believe I am sooooooo late in sending them out.
Hope you all have a productive and creative week
Take care and TFL

Pop Top Christmas Treat Cans and on the 12th day of Christmas

I felt a little piece of my angel's childhood gone forever last week when DD asked if they were having stockings this year.

I have no idea why I said no immediately, (maybe because stocking fillings can get a bit expensive sometimes and too large for the stockings ... I still remember the year trying to get a toy sword in DS's stocking or the year I dropped a musical yoyo and wake them up ... but she was really okay with it and said that the presents are sometimes too big to fit in anyway – oh bless her! But as understanding as she was I still had a sad/guilty mum feeling in my stomach!

Thankfully I found this great idea over at not so idle hands

And as Christmas is the one day a year when they can have lollies before lunch (with the exception of Easter when a ridiculous amount of chocolate is divulge before breakfast!) this was a great solution and fun to make just using scraps and embellishments that I already had.

Start by opening the can from the bottom with one of these "Smooth edge" can openers. This will enable you to glue it back on later because of that little overhang.
Wash and remove the label

Measured around it with string to get the length for the paper.

Cut paper and embellished

Apply doubled sided tape (I used 12mm tape) around the can to the top, middle and bottom

I stuck the paper down starting at the opposite side of the tab - just so you won't see the seam from the front.

I haven't yet glued the base back on. I wanted to give the can a good airing out (don't really want the lollies to smell like tomato soup!)

She recommended using a hot glue gun to adhere the base back.

Materials used:
LYB Roses pattern paper, the green opposite side
Christmas Stocking filled with presents charms
Bell Charms
Christmas Tree Charms
Red Rhinestones
Dark Green Rhinestones
Assorted Christmas Ribbons
Autumn Leaves Merry Christmas Clear Stamp

and thanks mum for the little wooden pegs

And DDs Pop Top Christmas Treats CanDark Pink Ric Rac for the edging at the top and bottom
For around the tin I used Fancy Pants Simplicity Pattern Paper which is only $1.00 for double sided paper and the pink dotted side I used, it is so pretty
Here is both sides of it

Double Star Charm
Silver Metal Textured Stars
Silver Twist Chain
And for all of the trees I used LYB Roses Paper

Kindy Glitz for the squiggle on tree
Pink Metal Textured Star

Pink Wavy Rhinestone Strip
Pink Crystal Brad

White Glass Seed Beads
Pink Metal Textured Star
Silver Straight Rhinestone Strips
Silver Metal Textured Star

All I need to do it add one of our white tags with the word pull stamped on it, fill it with lollies and seal the base. Yah another job to cross off my list.

and finally, our last free gift in the 12 days of Christmas Promotion

I have just gone back into not so idle hands and today she has posted a cute advert calendar which could be made using our circle pendants – thanks Emily – a project to add to next years list

Thanks everyone for the encouraging comments left and emails sent during our 12 days of Christmas Promotion - it is so appreciated :)

Hope you have a fun and creative weekend
