Easter Make n Take

Hi ladies,

For those on the bus trip last weekend, here is a run down on the make n' take that I did. So if you missed seeing it or want details for future creations, here it is in all its messy glory;)

I started off with a card base and smeared cream and gold paint all over it. Then I die-cut rectangles to create my eggs. Ahhhhh - the joy of wet, squishy mush oozing between my fingers - nothing beats getting down and messy with some paint (or something else). Reminds me of my toddlerhood ...

Next - a little stamping with Kaisercraft Crackle stamp and Distress Ink Vintage Photo - straight onto the eggs.  I used Distress Inks because they stay wet for longer, allowing me time to brush lightly over the surface with Perfect Pearls.  In this case, I used Cappuccino Perfect Pearls and Perfect Gold Perfect Pearls  so i can tick the boxes for keeping to the  Gold and Yellow theme of the bus trip.

Give the eggs a light spritz of water to set the Perfect Pearls. You might have to take my word on it about the glimmer - the photo just isn't doing it justice.  ;)

Next I coloured the Rabbit Charm with Gold Liquid Pearls and added a little Yellow Stickles to the egg.

The chocolate bar was coloured with Sunshine Yellow Stazon and then very quickly, (because Stazon dries fast), you need to brush some cappuccino perfect pearls over it, finishing off with a light spritz of water.

To embellish, add some yellow ric rac (which I swiped over with Yellow Stickles), some Buttercup Bakers Twine for the chocolate bar, and cut a yellow mulberry flower in half to pop onto the larger egg and add some green ric rac for the grass.

Ta daaaa!!!  Now you are all ready for Easter (though the shops beat you to it - since there has been eggs in-store since Boxing Day around here).

Any questions shot me an email :)

Easter Layouts

With Easter not too far away the Design Team have come up with some gorgeous Easter layouts to get you in the mood (this has certainly helped me get me started because I have only done ONE Easter Layout EVER so that's 13 years to catch up on GULP!)

First off let's start with Wendy ...

This LO uses the fantastic new Sassafras Lass Apple Jack papers, My Type
and Translate.

All the edges have been inked and the decorative strip is
from the My Type paper.
The Easter title is die cut from Coredinations cardstock using Cuttlebug's Red Tag Alpha.
I've also used Carolees Creations Tiny Alpha Stickers and mounted them on the same cardstock.
Embossed the Buzz and Bloom photo corners with the Mesh Cuttlebug
Embossing Folder but the Tiny Bubbles folder would give the same effect.

I used the 'reverse' embossing and inked it to match the cardstock and the buttons. Finished off with a little hand stitching.

Please contact Tracy if you would like her to order in an Cuttlebug
items for you.?

Core dinations All in the Family Pack Aqua Blues - the
blue cardstock I used is I think the darkest one in this pack
the mesh folder I have used is a lot like the cuttlebug embossing folder tiny bubbles

And Tracey says ... hmmm.....not too sure about this one. Was trying something different and therefore I am not sure I like!!!.....lol (you sound like me LOL must be the name!)

This is a 6 x 12 layout

and lastly, Taryn ...

I loved the crate paper die cuts, so decided to use the leftovers for a layout of this sweet photo of Lana. I made a handmade flower from the Delight die cut, added some AC thickers, and a scrapware birdie. I also use some Websters Pages ball trim, and some glimmermist here. To create the background, I have punched out some little hearts, and stitched them to the page using brown thread, then added some pearls as highlights.

We have more Easter OTPs and Cards from the Design Team to show you, but you will just have to wait for a few days LOL

Oh and yah finally Bo Bunny and 3 Bugs in a Rug should be here on Monday - see the CHA 2010 section on our website.

Have an awesome weekend everyone
