October Afternoon with Jess

How goes everyone today??
I'm REALLY hoping blogger is going to be nice to me and let me do this post.....

Sooooo Tracy from my2angels sent me some October Afternoon 5 & Dime to play with.....THANKYOU Tracy.....I HEART this range sooooo much!!

Sooooo here is what I've come up with......

First up is a lo of Elijah zoom zooming his airoplane : )

I splatterd Marmalade Glimmermist on...cos it's my fave.....I NEED to use it on just about EVERYTHING hehe....

Layers, Layers, Layers.....this range of pp's calls for LOT'S of Layers.....
The red twine looks so cute with the buttons.....which have unfortunately sold out...BUT don't worry...Tracy stocks some FAB buttons in the shop that would be just as awesome : ) Oh and If you want the crinkly effect like I've got on the receipt then just spray with water, scrunch up, un-scrunch then dry off with a heat tool...or let dry naturally.....

More Layers......I sprayed one of the October Afternoon Chippy's, which are sold out.....but check this out for a similar look, with Santa Baby Glimmermist, then inked with an Inkssentials Emboss it Clear pad then embossed with some Zing Rouge Embossing Powder and then finally I ran it through my cuttlebug using a Sissix Texture Fade Embossing Folder in Brickwall......

More embossing with the Brickwall embossing folder....and some texture using some punchinella and some Picket Fence White Distress Crackle Paint....

Ok second lo.....Love this photo of Grammy and Elijah : ) More crazy missting using the Santa Baby Glimmermist....oh and if you want the mist...and not the glimmer...just don't shake it up before you use it : )

Lace and Ric Rac and layering....and Distress Crackle Paint over punchinella

Scrapware Do Hicky Flourish inked with an Inkssentials Emboss it Clear Pad then embossed with Rouge Zing Embossing Powder......I used one of the October Afternoon Rub-Ons on one of Tracy's Pins....

Ok and lastly a CRAZY canvas......

Yes I might have gone a little far with this canvas...just couldn't stop adding to it.....

This was made with LOTS of Glimmermist, Distress Inks, Rub-ons & Distress Crackle Paints.....

And more scrapware goodness....Lucie Torso whos wearing some delightful pearls.....

And thats all folks...thanks so very muchly for having a wee sticky beak at my blog : )

Love and Peace xox

Ring a ring a roses

Keonie back here again

This LO was created again with the Spring Market papers from Webster’s Pages.

The journaling spot on the left hand side of the LO, and the ‘market’ sign with grape bunch were cropped from the Market Menu paper and embellished with dimensional magic sprinkled with small amount of glitter, some rhinestones and I raised the eye of each bird and random grapes from the grape bunch with the gorgeous Bisque Liquid Pearls from Ranger.

As a final embellishment I stitched in a cherry charm that I glazed with Ruby Red liquid pearls then once dry, covered in dimensional magic.
The yellow roses on top left of the journaling spot and the right hand corner piece (with cherries and clock) were cropped from the Spring market Vellum paper and secured either with Xyron machine, or with small dabs of dimensional magic.

Use a Tim Holtz Idea-ology Game Spinner in pewter colour to embellish and further secure the vellum piece.  The title came from the Spring Market Alpha Sticker Sheet and glazed with dimensional magic...gotta love that stuff!

Finally, the daisy chain/ring of roses was created using Tracy’s new and simply divine little roses in black, red and light brown.
I initially tried a daisy chain look but intertwining all the wires but being the painful perfectionist I am I couldn’t get them all to sit properly.
Soooo, I cut the wires off right at the base of each flower, stuck them around the circle with a hot glue gun (dimensional magic or wet glue would also work), then stitched in the circle with green thread.

I made this card using the Vellum Paper from Webster’s Pages Spring Market, some cream cardstock, Spring Market Alpha Stickers (little hint...the strip across the bottom of the card when you open the flap which reads ‘your life...beautiful’ is actually from the border of the alpha sticker sheet!

There are some self adhesive bits and pieces around the edges...check it out!), one of Tracy’s gorgeous Mocha coloured mini gardenias, silver round pendant charm, some rhinestones which were stuck in place by using a dollop of the Ranger Liquid Pearls - Bisque as an adhesive.  Place the rhinestone into the wet liquid pearl and press down lightly, the pearls will squish out the sides and gives a really lovely effect under the rhinestone when dry.

Other stuff I did was spritz the gardenia with clear Glimmer Mist, inked around the vellum cut out with brown ink and the ink blending tool, punched out a few butterflies using two different sized punches and the left over vellum paper, then added an outline in brown pen and glazed the title and a few of the leaves with Dimensional magic.

Hi there Lisa aka Moonie here

Got sooo many beautiful scraps like me…

Well here is a great idea as to what to do with them.  I have made these gorgeous wee cards.  I have now made about 50 of them.  I have got them in sets of 6 using the same collection per set.  They are simple and easy to make..Not sure if they are quick as I still set there and pull my hair out as to what to do !! LOL what a joke.

With this set of 6 I have used some of my left over scraps from the gorgeous Websters Pages Ladies and Gents collection.  I have used a couple of Martha Stewart punches, the bird and the butterflies and the scallop circles I have used my Cuttlebug and nestabilities.    Just a bit of thread, ink up the edges, add a few super cute charms of course and off you go.

So what are you waiting for.  Send a 6 pack off to your favourite person as a wee gift. They are so adorable and as we know we all appreciate MADE WITH LOVE items instead of bought from the stupid markets.
That’s it for me right now.  I hope you are all keeping rugged up and warm.. Such cuddly weather right now

For the title I used the new Websters story tellers alphas
And lastly  I sewed around the pages to add some texture

Hey guys, Keonie here (Guest DT from last year)

I visited Tracy last week to check out her new shop setting and couldn't help myself, I had to have a play with these papers from Webster’s Spring Market range...OMG how gorgeous are they!!

I begun this layout on a sheet of Core-dinations cardstock  in Nightfall and sanded the edges to rough them up a little.  OK, this layout involves a bit of ‘fussy cutting’ so prepare yourself for a little intense cutting...but trust me, it’s worth it.

I used the Webster’s Pages Spring Market – Good Living paper and cropped the signpost out and yes...removed the watering cans.  Obviously you could leave these in if it suits your photos.  I then loaded some Tim Holtz Rock Candy crackle paint onto a few of the signpost pieces and set it aside to dry.  Towards to top right of the paper then you will see some clouds.

Cut the big one out, plus the one that sits right on the edge of the page.  Mist these with Denim Blue Glimmer Mist and set aside to dry.  Grab a piece of the Scrapware chipboard picket fence borders and cut a bit off to measure approx 9 cm.  Paint this with Tim Holtz Picket Fence Crackle Paint and set aside to dry.

Whilst all your elements are drying now, mount the photo onto the CS (I have used a 5 x 7” photo and lightly sanded the edges to distress) kinda slightly off centre and toward bottom left-hand side of CS.
To add the border around the photo, I used a ruler and the underside of a craft knife to carefully scrape away a border.

Because you are using Core’dinations you can remove the top layer and expose the core to give you a frame around the photo.  I then cut out some photo corners from the reverse side of the Good living paper (Floral side) and fussy cut a few extra flowers which were mounted on top with mounting tape to give dimension.

I cut three extra flowers also and these were mounted onto the post part of the sign post element.
See the Baker’s Twine, this was wrapped loosely around the 3D mounted flowers and wrapped around top right hand corner of photo to frame it.

The top right hand corner of the twine was secured with double-sided tape as this will be covered by the blue cloud element.  Speaking of which, this was cut from the patterned paper and spritzed quite heavily with a darker blue Glimmer Mist.

Once this was dry I then cut an outline from the cloud to create the framed journaling spot and basically just layered these onto the LO, ruled lines in the journal cloud and journaled.  All clouds were also outlined freehand with black journaling pen.  On the dark blue cloud, I punched a small hole and attached a gorgeous ‘made with a smile’ sun charm with two jump rings before layering it over the outline cloud with 3D mounting tape.

Basically the rest of the layout comes together by layering your elements and adding some dimensional magic to random flowers, the bird on top of the sign post, and even over the white crackle paint on the picket fence embellishment.  I also used dimensional magic as an adhesive for the Diamond Dust on the outline cloud journaling spot.

As a final touch, add your title with Webster’s Pages Spring Market alphas...these are awesome, 4 sets of coordinating coloured alpha sets to match the paper range, then a baker’s twine bow at the bottom of the sign post, a gorgeous silver dragonfly charm just nearby, and then a clear rhinestone on the bottom left hand flower and the eye of the bird atop the signpost element.

Throw in a few brown brads on the sign post and....I think you are done!
I have 2 other projects to show you using these gorgeous papers, but that will have to wait another day ... the weather isn't the best today for taking photos

Keonie

and now me Tracy

... but I had a fantastic weekend with Cathy Cafun and Melissa O'Neill having a sleep over and scrapping  ... Cathy and I got 1 half completed layout done each and Miss Smartie Pants Mel did two awesome layouts .. keep an eye on her blog for them  ... only two photos to share of the weekend

Prima Layouts

Hi scrappers, it's Geli here. I wanted to show you what else I've done with the gorgeous Trendsetter
 range by Webster.

I had converted my photo to black and white and decided to go with a mostly green colour scheme with just a splash of bright pink.
Not a colour combo I usually use, but why not?
First, I painted over my background paper with gesso and then added some spots with green and black ink using that metal sheet of holes you get after sequins have been punched out.

For a fun embellishment I painted a scrapware chipboard hatstand  and added crackle accent . I found that the crackle accent actually made my colour a lot brighter when it dried and so I simply swiped another ink pad over it to tone it down a little.

Hat stands aren't really my thing, so I converted it into a tree with a little op shop doily and some yellow stemmed flowers . They were originally bright yellow and I sprayed them with a little glimmer mist  to match my colours. Pop on a little bow charm  to make it cute.

The scrapware bird and branch  got a similar treatment. I love how you can make your chipboard any colour.

Up in the corner I used a oval charm frame  instead of a journaling tag. I bunched up a few small stemmed flowers  around it to make a mini cluster to balance the tree.

I double-layered some butterflies from the style 105 paper  with foam squares to really make them pop up.

The back of this paper was also used for a photo mat and a scrap of Handsome Vintage  for the little punched border. I wanted to have a few small splashes of bright pink in several places or the tree would have looked out of place.

So there you go.
An unusual colour combo for me but I am very happy with the results.

Helllloooo Dahhhhhlinks....
Jess here

Soooo a few weeks ago I ordered a whole bunch of Prima and Websters pp's & embellies from my2Angels......I had always looked at them and thought oh they are so pretty but too girly...or not my style....then I thought...why not give em a go...why not funk em up.....and so...here is my first Prima NON PRETTY lo : )

For this lo I used the Prima Madeline pp's.....LOVE LOVE LOVE!!!!

The butterflies are perfect to cut out and doodle on....and of course I used more twirly whirly twine

I have been using the Marmalade Glimmermist on everything.....it's seriously my FAVE mist colour.....and it's a limited addition....sooooo I would hurry up and get some....if you haven't already!! So I've splattered it on my page (no page is complete without a good splatter) and sprayed it on my other FAVE product......Scrapware Do-Hicky Flourish #5.....these are all sorts of awesome.....chop em...use them as a mask...use the chippy backing as a stencil....me oh my they just rock...Oh and the cardboard is Scrapware Correboard Craft Sheets....

Love charms but don't always want the metal look on your page.....one word....PAINT.....I love painting charms.....they look super awesome : ) Here I've painted a Buggy Car Charm with a wee bit of white paint......The Websters fabric tickets add yummy texture to a lo and am so loving there buttons too......these come with funky coloured twine as well....yay : )

And just so you know.....I've used Websters Trendsetter alpha stickers on the photo and I stitched through some Thickers for the rest of the title....

Thanks so much for having a goosey goosey gander at my scrapping : )

The Best Birthday Card Ever!

My son set me a task ... he said he wanted my ‘best card ever’ for his birthday!!

Now I am not sure I achieved that but I made a pretty good attempt and made this very detailed 3 page card for him using the very happy and bright Bo Bunny Ad Lib papers!

I started off with some snowflake coredinations cardstock and made a square concertina card. I have then taken some of the Bo Bunny papers, Vertigo, Wild Thing & Pebbles and made 3 backgrounds for my pages. I’ve used my favourite Versamagic Jumbo Java to ink all the edges.
After deciding where my 3 photos were going to go I set about making each page into a mini layout!

For the 1st page I used a punched piece of the Vertigo to go across the page and attached it with eyelets and some Honeydew Bakers Twine
The alphas are AC Thickers Daiquiri in both Black and Green together with stickers from the Echo Park For the Record sheet
Some Jenni Bowlin Black Tiny Circle Alpha finished it off.

For the 2nd page I used the BB Ad Lib Combo alpha stickers, some more of the Jenni Bowlin Tiny Circle Alphas in Black and Red and the ‘Celebrate Life’ is from the Verbaige paper
I have also used a couple of dymo labels.

The 3rd page I used a speech bubble from the Ad Lib paper, some stickers from the Combo Alpha Stickers, ‘Life is Good’ and ‘Love’, some more AC Thickers Daiquiri Black and AC Thickers Daiquiri Green, Jenni Bowlin in Black and a red ‘kiss’ from the alpha stickers sheet.

After I had stuck on my photos I added some my2angels charms, a couple of Bikes and a Little Boy, to match the theme of my photos.

The verdict ... he loved it!! And I have to say I think it is definitely one of my best!!
