Notebooks for gifts

Notebooks
one for me and one for a gift
(I just have to decide which one I want to keep because I love them both!)

The pp is Graphic 45 Domestic Goddess Happy Homemaker (yeah whatever! happy homemaker puff) and using the Inkssentials blending tool (LOVE IT) applied Vintage Photo to the edges.

You have to get one of these blending tools! And don't forget to also get the blending foam so you have a pad for each ink colour. I keep the pads in the little zip lock bags that we send most of the charms out to you in.

Whilst I wanted the notebook to look "pretty" I also wanted it to be practical so I tried not to overload the spirals because it can be damm annoying with lots of bits and pieces hanging off.
The ribbon tied to the spirals is bias binding which I have had forever! I soaked it in tea, scrunched up, keeping secure with pegs, then left to dry.

Attached our Red Copper Evening Dress charm and Follow your Heart charms to it using jumprings. Then I created a dangling piece with various beads that you can find in our Beads and Cord Section under Accessories

These brown mulberry flowers, I just love them they are so pretty with the dark brown centre but today I covered up most of the centre with our silver and gold rings (found in the embellishment section) and put a piece of the gold flower chain on the top

Also used the Pink Paislee Artisan Elements Frames and cut out pieces from the Graphic 45 pattern paper then foam taped for dimension

Scrapware Audrey Mannequin covered with tuelle, then to create the top I wrapped the bias binding around. Made the little rose flowers with it also and added some tuelle in between layers

And my second notebook

The border is pizza box cut up and ripped. Inked with vintage photo then vintage photo distress crackle paint and lastly wiped (not blended) with Walnut Stain Ink

My favourite piece ... chipboard cut using Tim Holtz Alterations Hanging Sign with jumprings. I inked it green then randomly sprinkled clear embossing powder on, heated it up and once cooled wipe with vintage photo ink (using my blending tool!) .

For a little bit more of dimension I found some paper I had already handcut from Websters pages and put that on the border and tucked a few of our dark green mulberry leaves behind

Brown cotton ric rac to tidy up the edge of the pp

I cut around the border of the leaves and tucked our brown stemmed flowers in behind. Added our dragonfly charm and applied some White Opal Liquid Pearls on some of the white buds on the pp

Chipboard Key (inked and heat embossed again) is cut from Tim Holtz Alterations hardware findings, bias binding ribbon again and our bronze key charm & bronze heart locket attached with jumprings

Okay I have decided ... I am keeping them both LOL (thankfully i have another spare notebook!)

Hope you all have a safe weekend
See ya next month!

Black and White with a dash of red and pink

Here are my takes on the black and white theme for the month

First up is Black White and Red

The background is scarlett core dinations cardstock and the die cut shape is painted corrugated cardboard and some white paint "wiped" over it. Also added is our white cotton ric rac and red multi-coloured acrylic chain

And since Mark doesn't appreciate flowers on his layouts (no idea why? What is with 13 year old boys these days PML) so I created an explosion of felt love hearts

The LOVE is from Buzz and Bloom Be Mine.
The white outer piece I inked and covered with Inkssentials Crackle Accent .
The inner words is Liquid Pearls Ruby Red

The keyhole is chipboard cut from Tim Holtz Alterations Hardware Findings, inking it black first then coating with Picket Fence Rock Candy

Using our silver twist chain I attached our circle pendant with pattern paper inside then covering with Inkssentials Crackle Accent.

Next time I think I will try wiping some walnut stain or vintage photo ink over the crackle to give it a vintage feel.
The pattern paper is 7gypsies adore which is in the 50% off specials section
For a small piece of journalling our white tags are perfect - that's our large silver key in there as well

My 2nd Black and White piece, not totally happy with the outcome or the photos but I do love the embellishments.
It was intended to be a photo frame for display but it doesn't stand up so well (durrh!)

First I coated the entire Scrapware Chipboard Dressing Screens (oh and by the way you get 6 screens in the packet ... GREAT VALUE!)

Corrugated cardboard butterfly covered in distress crackle black soot paint and for the body is a Tim Holtz Trinket Pin

Middle piece top flourish has been coated in black diamond stickles and also the scrapware butterfly (love these sheet of butterflies have you checked them out?

Another scrapware butterfly covered in black diamond stickles and a pink love engraved felt heart with maya road trinket pins

The title is made up of the new Scrapware Antique Lowercase Mini Alphas covered in distress crackle black soot paint on top of our black rhinestone scroll

Chipboard butterfly covered in picket fence rock candy and edges with black diamond stickles and centred with a black gardenia lightly covered in diamond dust.

Contacting the frames together at the bottom is our silver twist chain

and the tops joined with jump rings and also dangling thingies I made (dunno what you would call them!)

so easy to make!
Eye pins
Spacer Beads
Clear drop pendants
Black pearl bead

thread them through the eye pin, applying dimensional magic between each piece and finished off with a piece of organza ribbon easy peasy

That's all from me for now
Have a fantastic day

More Black and White Themed layouts ....

It's me Wendy with my last 2 layouts for the month

Firstly let me apologise for the photo, the light has been awful here for taking photos and unfortunately the white cardstock has come out looking a little stripey!!

Anyway white is the colour of the day today ... with my favourite black and a hint of dark teal blue.

Using a pack of Core’dinations all in the family fade to black cardstock (these packs are awesome value!) I’ve used white, black and grey cardstock together with a blue card from the Aqua Blues pack.

I cut up strips of the white, black and blue card and then weaved them together to make a panel which I then mounted on a piece of black cardstock.

I covered two thirds of my white cardstock with some Imaginisce To Love Cherish Katherine paper (reverse side) and after positioning my panel and photo on the page I played with some further strips to ‘frame’ my photo.

I added little off cuts of the card randomly on the strips and added ‘Chill Out’ and ‘Cool’ from the my2angels boys ribbon to two pieces of card and mounted them on 3D tape.

I have also used the small B&B mirrored hearts from the Love & Kisses and 2 buttons and 1 photo corner which I have covered in a white enamel but the same effect can be achieved with white paintn or ink and some dimentional magic. For my title I have used some Rusty Pickle Alphas (which have unfortunately sold out forever since RP are no longer!) and some Jenni Bowlin Circle Alphas.

and my second layout

This photo was taken at one of my DS’s football games and I got to thinking ... that come rain or shine he plays footy on a Saturday morning! And come rain or shine we go to watch him!! He plays #6 and has done for a few years now so I included that in my title too!

Using a pack of Core’dinations All In the Family Fade to Black cardstock I’ve used white for the background and some black for a side panel.

I used some Bo Bunny Mama Razzi Aperature (dark side) as a strip down the side and to mount my cut out photo on, together with a strip of left over Websters Lifes Portrait Reflections from last months pack.

I mounted my photo onto white cardstock which I inked in the colours of my LO. I punched a border on the Websters paper and have then added my title discreetly on the spots of the paper using Jenni Bowlin Tiny Circles alpha (a new fav of mine and the colour matched perfectly!). I’ve used both a black and a brown of this alpha and added some brackets and a #4 from AC Thickers Jewelry Box black alpha. The brackets I put around the ‘6’ on the Jenni Bowlin Adore Bingo Card.

To finish I added some Buzz & Bloom clouds, lightly rubbed with white ink, a painted chipboard sun and rain drops cut from some left over Mama Razzi paper. (Unfortunately we didn’t know that B&B were closing when I used the clouds on my LO, but Tracy a new stock of the Scrapware clouds which are just as gorgeous!)

Other materials:

Chipboard flower, painted with yellow paint and a Pearl paint.

I have absolutely LOVED this month SO much ... thanks you for the B&W theme it was awesome!!! Wendy:)

You are very welcome Wendy, I have loved everything the DT has sent through this month - the Black and White theme has been a real winner and so inspiring.

I will be back in a few days with my attempts at the black and white theme ... my mojo decided to visit me a few times over the weekend so I managed to grab the little bugger with both hands and create before he left again!

Black White Pink and Purple Layouts

Black, White, Pink and Purple layouts from the Design Team ...

Hi everyone Corrina here

I am blessed with two very gorgeous daughters. This is a modelling shot taken of my eldest. The camera just loves her and always makes her look soooo way older than she is.

For this layout I have used Kaiser Ebony & Ivory Felicity paper. I highlighted some of the blossoms with indigo coloured ink and purple/blue kindyglitz. The title were some white alphabets that I had that I stamped over with the flower stamps then inked in places and kindy glitzed to match the paper.

I used some gorgeous Autumn Leaves clear stamps to create the layered flowers. These stamps (flower sketch and flower swirls) have the petals outlined several times, so it makes layering a breeze by simply cutting along a different set of petal lines each time. I highlighted each flower with the indigo ink and kindyglitz, and finished off with a flower cut from the black butterflies and flowers felt ribbon.

I used some more of this ribbon under the organza flower and finished off with some more butterflies (one atc card one and one felt one from the ribbon, highlighted with black pearls) and some leaf charms.

Materials Used:
cardstock & paper: coredinations nightfall black, Kaiser Ebony & Ivory Felicity

ta dah....done !

Hi guys, Keonie here Guest Designer for the month with my 2nd layout

On this LO I have used the gorgeously bold Teresa Collins Chic Bebe papers with white CS as the base and black CS as a photo mount.

Before mounting the photo onto the black however I did use the TC pink ledger paper and cut the mount with decorative scissors.

For the title and journaling spot i simply cut the frames that I wanted to use from the Chic Bebe mini tags paper and distressed them using the ink blending tool and black ink. You will see that I have done this distress technique right throughout the layout to help blend the papers and embellishments together.

On the journaling spot I have also added some pearls and rhinestones for a bit of girly bling. In the bottom left corner of the photos I created a little embellishment cluster using one of the pink felt hearts, pink canna lilly, and a fleur de lis charm that I altered using the ink blending tool and Cherry pink StazOn ink.

Up in the top right hand corner I used two different pattered papers from the Chic Bebe range and made a layered photo corner, the underneath one of which I cut using scallop decorative scissors and distressed the edges again with Black Soot ink and the blending tool. To add a bit of texture and bling in this spot I ran a line of dimensional magic around the edge of the pink and black polka dot paper, then sprinkled some gorgeous Diamond Dust all over. Sprinkle this rather generously then give it a few minutes to set. After that you can gently remove the excess with a cotton bud of soft paint brush making sure you sweep the excess away from your dimensional magic which will still need more time to dry.

Finally, to tie the whole LO together, I ruled a fine black outline using black gel pen and adhered two fleur de lis shapes to the top left hand corner of the LO. These were cropped from the Chic Bebe Fleur de Lis paper. Add a bit of dimensional magic to these and to the word “Bebe” in the title and you are done!

Hi its Tracy here, nothing to share (: My mojo has gone AWOL (:

Hope you all aren't having the same problem.

Take care and thanks for looking

Look what our grubby hands got ...

Yes we managed to get our grubby hands (literally but more about that in a minute) on ...

1 0unce Kits of Glimmer Mist

Each kit contains 4 x 1 ounce bottles of glimmer mist

We managed to get 2 different kits in ... (they are harder to get than winning lotto!)

Perfect for the beginners of Glimmer Mist
or the smaller users of Glimmer Mists (are there any? LOL)

Winter Wishes

Winter Wishes contains Moonlight, Frost, Spring Violet and and a clear coat of Glacier

and the second kit is

Garden Bouquet

Garden Bouquet contains Meadow Green, Purple Pansy, Starfish and a clear coat of Tattered Rose

Examples of the colours are inside the product page on our website

And why do I have grubby hands? (not too mention new paint and ink stains on my clothes!)

Well with new Tim Holtz Products, Tattered Angels (stock up of Glimmer Mist), Autumn Leaves butterfly and birds stamps then add that all to the new scrapware chipboard and you got some playing and mess to create LOL

We have more colours in Tim Holtz Crackle Paint.
My favourite is vintage photo. I manage to get a semi decent enough photo to show you on an incomplete layout
(well it is after midnight!) using the new scrapware antique mini alphas combined with Websters pages

or using the new Tim Holtz Hanging Sign and add some black soot crackle paint (it cut through the chipboard like butter ... and using my cuttlebug!)

And here is quick scan I did earlier playing around with the new scrapware sheet of butterflies with Worn Lipstick distress ink and Worn Lipstick Crackle Paint

And then we have Tim's masks (we have video in the resource section with Tim on using these masks - well worth watching the 6 minutes of it especially if you are new to using masks like me)

and still with Tim we have his keyholes back in stock and new swivel clasps & game spinners.

Since we are getting so much more of his products in store we have created his own section

Did I mention Tattered Angels Timeless Romance masks are in stock now as well?
They have their own sub section as well!

I know there is heaps more to tell you about but my eyes are getting tired, so I am off to bed

oh but before I go, funny sight at the Post Office today a very elderly lady was at the counter with her PURPLE DRESSING GOWN on, when she left I said to the staff what a funny sight!
The staff replied "oh we don't notice that anymore cause she is always here in her dressing gown".

I wonder if they think the same about me with my grubby hands and quite often paint or glitter on my face. After I left I saw the lady driving off her in PURPLE motorised scooter.

Anyhow enough from me, get over to our new arrivals section to see all the new products for yourself
