How cute is this little girl charm... reminds me of Holly Hobby

2 different styles of layouts to share

Today we have two totally different types of layouts to share with you from the Design Team.

Love the variety of style and talent our Design Team has ...

First from Wendy ...

For this LO I thought I would give a new colour glimmer mist a try, so I have sprayed Raven Glimmer Mist all over a piece of Core-dinations Snowflake cardstock. It's quite dark (just the way I like it) and appears grey on the card but I love the blobs it creates which are purple. I've layered my black and white photo on some black patterned paper and die cut cardstock and then added a gorgeous my2angels black rhinestone flourish.

The beautiful butterflies are hand cut out of a piece of Prima Flights of Fancy Miss Pretty, which is due in stock next week.

For the title I have used American Craft Foam Thickers 'Daiquiri', Pink Paislee 'holly doodle' white stickers and Carolees Creations Tiny Black alphas.

I've finished off with an Olive Green Mulberry Flower and one of my fav products, Inkssentials Crackle Accents, which I used on the butterfly bodies and my journalled hearts.

And from Taryn ...

I have completely fallen in love with the Lullaby Lane range of Webster's Pages, so as soon as I got my hands on it, I knew just the photo for it - this dreamy photo I took of Lana a few months back while we were having a family picnic by the water at Toorbul.

Isn't this paper totally adorable???

I couldn't resist using the sweet little thongs charm on my journalling tag.

GUESS WHAT???

Woo hoo the supplier assures me they have received the Prima Papers and we should have them in our hot little hands by next Thursday (depending on the postal system with Monday being a holiday!)

YIPEE finally .....

See you in a few days with some cute new products to share :) :) :) Trust me they are here LOL not like some other products that has keep us waiting and waiting!!! Not mentioning any names of course!

Colouring Chipboard Techniques

Corrina is sharing her techniques for colouring chipboard with us today ...

First her layout ... Relaxing

This layout is one of myself and Wendy drinking some Midori cocktails that my wonderful husband made for us on Boxing Day. It was such a lovely day - warm weather and good company and great cocktails!!

The gorgeous Bo Bunny paper was just too beautiful to cut ink or tear so I left it whole and used it as a main focus. I inked the buzz and bloom chipboard piece and finished it with a touch of Rock Candy Distress Stickles. I couldn't resist the fabulous new Twinklets Diamond Dust so I applied glue to the bottom half of the title and dusted with Twinklets.

(HINT: to use Diamond Dust on sticker alphabets, line your letters up on a piece of acetate first, then apply glue and twinklets. Once dried, brush away any loose pieces and then adhere to your layout...)

What I used:
Papers: Bo Bunny Sophie's Notebook, Autumn Leaves Sweet Whispers
Title and Journalling: AC Thickers - Jewelry Box, Carolee's Creations Tiny Black Alphas.
Embellishments: Buzz and Bloom Chipboard Arboretum: up the garden path
Materials: Twinklets Diamond Dust (will be back in stock shortly), Distress Stickles Clear Rock Candy, Versacolour inks.
Tools: machine stitching, Martha Stewart border & corner punches - Loopy.

Upclose of the colouring chipboard with ink

and

a card colouring the Scrapware Chipboard Geisha Girls with watercolours and Crate Paper Paper Doll Lizzie...

I love this technique! It would be a great way to use up the kids half used coloured pencils that seem to clog up their school pencil cases with! Tracy :)

If you want to colour your chipboard like Corrina's has, click here to go to our tutorial section on our website for full instructions.

We hope you are inspired to have a go at these techniques and please share them with us in our gallery

Have a great everyone

and for those of you who are waiting and waiting oh so patiently "NOT" for Tim Holtz Sizzix Embossing Folders well the man has spoken LOL Tim states on his blog (thanks Keonie for pointing this out to me - I just got a "not arriving till April" from the supplier! yeah right let's try May!) Anyhow back to Tim he states:

alterations: my texture fades from sizzix have to be one of the most anticipated products for me! i could not wait to work with these, however after working with them at cha, i decided to make minor changes in all of them (yep all 16 of them). i tip my hat to sizzix for having the patience and trust in me as a designer to make sure i got the product i wanted even though they were already in production and had to go back and rework everything! these texture fades are perfect now and designed to create a deeply embossed texture in thicker materials like grungeboard, chipboard, metal, canvas, plastic and of course paper. they're unlike anything you've used before. the random and sometimes dimensional designs of the texture fades give the effect of certain parts of certain textures fading away. ah, the ultimate texture! so good news, the texture fades will start shipping the last week of april through the first week in may - it's soon i tell you...soon...

that is from America so we won't receiving till Mid May I expect but don't hold me to that LOL

And now I am off to pack my scrapping bag.

Where am I going (if this head cold goes away!!!)

Well I am in classes all day tomorrow with International Teachers from Graphic 45, Fancy Pants, Coredinations and Bo Bunny wooo hooo can't wait - see ya tomorrow Kim and Corinne

Have a fantastic weekend everyone

2 Die Cut Layouts to share

First Die Cut layout is from Corrina

THEY CAPTURE OUR HEARTS WITH THEIR SMILES....

This layout is of my two daughters dressed up for a Melbourne Cup day fashion parade. They may be growing up fast but they still love to play dress up!!

Using from my2angels - Crate Paper Paper Dolls Collection, Carolee's Creations Alpha Letter Stickers with lots of rhinestones and stitching

I don't often use die cut papers, not sure why but I have become a bit obsess after getting the new Bo Bunny paper range in which I will share with you another day (still one to finish off) but I do have this one to show you...

I used Crate Paper Lemon Grass Die Cut pattern paper
flying bird charm
brown gardenia
small chocolate brown mulberry flowers
small red mulberry flower
red glitter brads
light brown pearls
Skeleton Leaf - Natural
Imaginisce Lucy Bird Flower Tag Stamp
Brown Cotton Ric Rac
and American Crafts Ned Jr White Rubons

Negative image -
3 dimensional / negative clouds

Using a scrapware chipboard cloud as my template I drew the clouds onto the main piece of cardstock then cut out.
I placed a small piece of the die cut pattern paper behind it covering my hole! Then I draw clouds again onto scrap cardstock, just cutting them slightly smaller, distress the edges (and inking the cream one), foam taped them attached to layout. Last thing was to crackle them with Inkessentials Crackle Accent. Added one of our wooden buttons with string for the sun and our dark brown pearls for the sun rays

Using Scrapware Chipboard Lisa as a mask I sprayed Creme de Chocolat Glimmer Mist over it, waited for it to dry then adhered the chipboard to the layout. You could just leave it as is because the glimmer mist has been sprayed on it but I added Tim Holtz Walnut Stain Distress Ink and white versa color ink on the leaves.

I thought I would give Faux Metal technique ago on this layout. Was concerned that I would use up heaps of my embosing powder but really, it didn't even leave a dent in the jar. This is the Autumn Leaves Flower Swirls Clear Stamp and Chestnut Zing Embossing Powder.

I was going to write up a tutorial on how to do the Faux Metal flower but found this You Tube video which showed the easier way to do it. I found some instructions on a blog but it was way too stressful wish I had found this video before hand.

I hope this video works, last time I tried I failed at it LOL
See ya soon

Mini Album with Websters Pages Seaside Retreat

Websters Pages Seaside Retreat is the basis for this colourful mini album by Taryn and using a huge array of our products which all blend in so brilliant together ...

A few weeks ago, we decided to take some time out with the kids, and
spend the day at Bribie Island. We had such a memorable day there, and
I managed to take heaps of fun photos, so decided to use the new seaside retreat papers to create a mini album of our day at
the beach.

I just love how bright and playful this range is. My favourites are
the die cut paper, and the underwater oasis.

Charms are perfect for mini albums. On this one, I have used the
mermaid, dolphins, thongs, and the circle pendant.

I loved hanging the charms in front of little shopping tags, and also tying them to the binding rings.

I used so many other yummy goodies from my2angels as well, including scrapware flourishes, foam thickers,
red gingham brads, felt scroll in purple and blue, cream cotton lace, 2cm white lace, velvet ric-rac in red and purple, cotton ric-rac in yellow and pink,
along with some orange, blue, and white flowers and purple rhinestones.

Taryn has also written up a tutorial on how to make her paper bag flowers - check it out in our tutorial section.

Hope everyone is having a great weekend and yah there is a light at the end of the tunnel ... kids go back to school Tuesday :)
