Okay, so I have to admit I wasn't initially impressed that Kaisercraft had brought out wrapping paper ... seriously!  But then I got my hands on it and - well - one OTP set later...
I like it! It's far more versatile than I thought and so easy to work with on OTP's.

It's a thick, ribbed texture paper, great for OTP's, wrapping gifts and adding to layouts and cards.

So check out my OTP set ...

My die cut chipboard houses are inked with Dusty Concord Distress Ink and then embellished with:
and sprinkled with Pearlised Mica Fragments (back in stock next week).

I also made a Notepad - and ...

Save the Date Birthday Layout

Loving this paper range - how cool is the Kaiser Save the Date papers? Tracy has such a great selection of products to coordinate with the papers too .... makes it so easy to create a coordinated layout!!

I chose to scrap a photo from Teleah's 6th birthday ..... I love using a patterned paper for the background and this tiny pink Banner paper suited my purposes perfectly! I love layering and these papers have lots of great shapes and patterns and colours - the perfect mix for easy layering!!

I started with a block of the Milestone paper - and then overlapped it with the gorgeous, striped Invite paper. I used the Streamers paper to matt my photo and placed this in the middle of the other layered papers.

I then used some of the pieces from the Hip Hip papers to add the "If you obey all the rules " text and for the layout title I used 'remember this moment'.

Finally, using some strips of paper I added extra colour and patterns at the top and bottom of the patterned blocks of paper.

I loved the balloons on the Streamers paper, so I cut out some of the ballons. I have then glued some fabulous bits of  twine underneath the ballons before I adhered them to the page - it looks like the balloons are on strings!

I have also handcut the little banner from the Hip Hip paper and added this to the top, right side of the photo. And just because I love them - I also added a little rainbow charm!! Tracy has such fabulous charms - suitable for EVERY occasion!!

I also added a cute, little icecream charm to the end of the twine on the balloon.

Finally I added some doodling around the edges of the papers, just to give them more definition. I also added a gorgeous Antique bronze timepiece for interest.

SO do yourself a favour and head over to my2angels and check out the fabulous papers and embellishments Tracy has on offer!!!

Have you seen the Sew Easy tool? It's sew easy to use (terrible pun, sorry) and you can change designs in seconds. If you hate dragging out the sewing machine and even if you are not a enthusiastic stitcher, you will love this. It's now available at my2angels in the haberdashery section.

First, here is a layout where I used the tool and some of the new wonderful cherry blossoms.
The background is Prima Songbird Lineage (back & front) cut like this:

and glued together with a strip of Sunrise. I used the Sew Easy tool to stitch the scallops with - you guessed it - the scallop head (more about this below) and a little bit of cotton lace.
The new tangerine cherry blossoms, roses and rose buds match the Songbird papers perfectly. That colour is just divine.
There is also an upside-down Charming Bouquet

If you don't know how easy it is to attach a rhinestone word, please have a look here for all the tricks.

But back to the Sew Easy tool!

First, you will need the tool (duh) and a squishy mat. I've been told that a mouse pad works, but I haven't tried. It's hard enough getting a go on our computer without trying to steal the mouse pad...
(Geli, I use my mouse pad and yip it does work :) ...Tracy)

The tool comes with a head that makes straight lines. (I used that to make some perforated lines for the tickets on the layout above.)
That's alright, but what we really want is something cool. So get yourself another head, like this heart one. Twist the boring one off and twist the cool one on. Now get your piece of paper, pop it on the squishy mat and start rolling.
You'll need a bit of pressure and I don't think you should go through more than 2 layers of paper. (try it on a scrap first!) You now have a cool design, ready to stitch.
If it hasn't punched the holes all the way through, go over it with a pokey tool.

At the back of the handle is a little compartment for needles. I think it even comes with one, but don't take my word for it. I keep all my embroidery needles in there now.

Use 2 or 3 strands of embroidery cotton and start stitching. I'm a bit lazy and I do a running stitch one way...

... and fill in the gaps with a running stitch on the way back. Too easy.

So here is my completed row of hearts...

... and I quickly made it into a card with a few leftovers, some bakers twine and a sweet little follow your heart charm.

And there you have it. Give it a go, it's a great tool and you'll be stitching away in no time, with your friends thinking you've slaved for hours. Hehe.

Birthday ATC's and a Card

Birthday ATC's
Can you believe we are in the third week of August already!? The time is flying by again this year!
This week I have been playing with Kaisercraft's 'Save the Date' papers and have made a set of four 'Birthday ATC's'.
The base for all four is a 3.5'' x 2.5'' piece of Coredinations Cardstock. The colours are St Valentino, Lime, Raspberry and Blue Lightening.
On top of this I have layered a slightly trimmed Inkssentials Manila ATC covered with Tim Holtz Tissue Tape (Symphony).
I thought the music on this tissue tape would be a very appropriate birthday background, since celebrations and music go together so perfectly. :)
After that, each ATC is different.
The first has a Lollypop banner stretched across the top. I made this by knotting three Lollipop Silver Charms onto a piece of Pink Organza Ribbon.
I added a small pink brad to hide the knots. A Snag 'em stamps Ice Cream Cone is stamped with Black Archival Ink and coloured with Copic Markers, then cut out and put on the card. The front one is popped up on dimensional squares.
The "Congrats" sentiment is cut from Save the Date's Cheers. (There are some word strips and heaps of different border strips on the reverse). After mounting it on some of the St Valentino cardstock, I also gave it a boost with a dimensional square.
The second card has a heart banner. This was stamped using the Kaisercraft Save the Date "Pennants" Clear Stamp and coloured with Copic Markers. Right in the centre there is a Cupcake Silver Charm
This time I have used the Snag 'em Hello Cupcake! stamp, coloured with Copic Markers, and the words "Fun, Fun, Fun" from Save the Date's Cheers are mounted on Lime cardstock. The banner and the word strips are popped up on dimensional squares.
The third card's banner is cut from Save the Date's Cheers patterned paper ... the string is a piece of beading wire - the memory kind that holds it's shape. Each flag is popped up on a dimensional square.
The word strip - "Celebrate", still from Cheers - is also popped up and is mounted on some Raspberry cardstock. In the top right corner I have attached a silver Present Charm with a bright pink brad. The four balloons on the left hand side are all stamped with Snag 'Em's Balloon stamp and coloured in with Copic Markers.
The fourth and final ATC has a banner stamped from the Kaisercraft Save the Date "Pennants" Clear Stamp across the top. Again it was coloured with Copic Markers, as was the Snag 'Em Present stamp underneath it.
The silver Present Charm is attached with a blue brad this time and the word strip from Cheers is mounted on Blue Lightening cardstock.
I was quite happy with the way these ATC's turned out ... they're so bright and cheerful and they were fun to make.
Anybody want to swap??

Tracy here with  another card!!!
I couldn't resist using our new Tangerine flowers (OMG the colours are gorgeous!)

Using a twiddleybitz kraft card and ink blending vintage photo then heat embossing a flourish stamp with Stampendous Aged Embossing Enamel Gold to create the background

The 11cm white doily has been sprayed with Tiger Lily Glimmer Mist
Topaz Rhinestones and Tangerine Roses to frame the doily

I cut one of our bottle corks in half to create a vase
and filled the vase with

I love this card so much (& the flowers), that I have started a layout exactly the same as the card

Hope your weekend is creative and fun
