A House is made of Walls ....

Hi Jen here today

It's no secret that my favourite colour is purple so when I saw the new purple Graphic 45 Secret Garden range at my2angels I couldn't wait to get creating!

I grabbed a 13 x 13 square Twiddleybitz white card  with a matching envelope for my base.

I then cut a square from my patterned paper and double matted it - first with white, and then with purple.

I loved how this stripy G45 Sun Kissed paper gave me the impression of wallpaper so decided to use it like it was on a wall!

I added another panel of patterned paper (the horizontal stripes) to the front over a strip of white tape, to draw the eye.

I painted my Twiddleybitz frame with white and while it dried, stamped my "house" greeting in Dusty Concord Distress Ink on white cardstock.

I trimmed the edges of the greeting so I could adhere the frame and mount on the 'wall'.

The perfect finishing touch - is the gorgeous new addition at my2angels, the rose chain in purple (of course)!!

This I attached with hot glue and trimmed the last few rings of chain with jewellery cutters.

I added a strip of the stripe to my envelope to carry the theme and stamped again in Dusty Concord Distress Ink.

Now I have the perfect card for a house-warming - anyone moving soon???

April is FULL of birthdays...

...so I find myself spending every spare moment making cards for family and friends.

I'm sharing two of them here today because they are both made entirely with products available from my2angels :)

The base for both cards is a Twiddleybitz Kraft Card (with matching envelope)

Kaisercrafts Remember Me is a really great range for card makers with the perfectly sized panels on both Marilyn and Adeline, as well as heaps of papers with card-sized patterns in the 6.5" Paper Pad. As you can see it is also very versatile - it's hard to believe these two cards are from the same paper collection!

My first card was covered with a piece of the pink reverse of Hannah left over from my "Beautiful" layout - just large enough to fit the C6 card with a thin edge of Kraft still showing.
I die cut the two labels on the front from papers in the 6.5'' Paper Pad and mounted them on Foam Mounting Tape to give the card some dimension.
The two words...happiness and always, were cut from a sheet of words - again in the Paper Pad. I cut the ends into a V and inked the edges with Antique Linen and Tattered Rose Distress Inks.
I always think that if I'm taking the time to create a card, I should make the envelope pretty too, so I lined the inside with the same paper that I used on the small 'window' label. I don't think it's really visible in these photos, but the script is pink foil and looks stunning in the right light.

The decorating was simple...some pretty Pink & White Cherry Blossoms, a few tiny Light Pink Roses, a scattering of Coconut Ice Sugar Beads and a pink and silver Charming Pin I've had in my stash for ages. To finish off I added a tiny Pink Organza bow. Inside the card is another of those handy journalling spots from Marilyn, the pink one with the two flowers on it. Oops...forgot to take photos of the inside!

My second card was so quick and easy to make! I used a panel from the reverse of Marilyn to cover the entire front of the card and then just added a few embellishments. The three red poppies are from the Remember Me Collections pack. I gave them a light coat of Glossy Accents and added a few Mud Cake Sugar Beads to their centres.
The banner in the corner is made of three of the stickers from the 12 x 12 Sticker Sheet , cut down to card size. More Mud Cake Sugar Beads form the string. Both are mounted on Foam Mounting tape.

Finally a pair of Antique Bronze Butterflies (without the clips) are flying up the page, and the envelope is lined with a piece of paper from the 6.5'' Paper Pad that matches two of the banner's flags. On the inside I have die cut a label for writing on from another of the 6.5'' papers.

and more handmade prettiness!

Black, Pink and Silver Leaf Pins
3 x 7cm Silver Hat pins adorned with beads and roses backed with a coordinating mulberry leaf

here is a card I have made with our pink flower centre and using a "resist technique" for the background

Using a Twiddleybitz 13x13 white card, randomly stamp your background stamp (I used Prima Engraver Stamp One) using your emboss it pad or dabber and clear Zing! embossing powder (this acts as a resist when sprayed or inked)

then heat set it with your heat gun
.

now spray the backside of the front of the card lightly with water (this helps prevent warping when we spray with glimmer mist)

then start with your lightest colour first, spray your glimmer mist ... I used Viva Pink

then your contrasting colour ... I used Pop Rocks

and lastly your darker colour (than the first sprayed colour) ... I used handmade Picked Raspberry Glimmer Mist

Emboss a piece cut from Twiddleybitz bird on a branch chipboard for the background of your flower bouquet.  Add a collection of our pink flowers and thin white mulberry leaves above the flower centre, which has a pink organza bow underneath and below 2 pink lillies with a large daisy charm

I LOVE the colour combination of this background that I have also started a layout using the same technique and the left over piece from the Twiddleybitz bird on a branch chipboard which I will show tomorrow:)

In each pack you receive one silver rose chain measuring approximately 18cm in length  and
coordinating flower centre approximately 2cm

In between designing I have managed to complete this layout

The theme just had to be time!
as it was the first time my brother and sister met my DS - at approximately 20 minutes old.

So out came the clock charms - pretty much all of them - and then it was 'time' to get down and dirty with texture paste and my Twiddleybitz Clock Template over some black cardboard. (which I tore in some areas)

I've worked with the embellishments and a Twiddleybitz School Dayz Chipboard Clock to place them down the page on an angle - this helps to direct your eyes from the top to the bottom of the layout.

Once the paste was dry I covered everything with Claudine Hellmuth Multi-Medium then sprayed with Metallic Pewter Distress Stain which I put into a spray bottle

added our "precious" plague
and white tags for my journalling

COME BACK TOMORROW
as we have more new releases to share
