CHARMS CHARMS CHARMS

NEW Charms have arrived in store

Antique Bronze Round Frame (similar to our popular silver frame)

Angel Heart Wings
these are a great large size ... approx 4cm x 1.5cm
They have a hole through the middle making them ideal if you like to create your own hat pins or thread ribbon through for a hanging embellishment on your layouts and cards

How good are these large keys?
They come in Antique Bronze and Antique Silver and measure approximately  6.8cm x 2.1cm

Also a restock of our man on a motobike charms, fairy girl charms, petite silver frame and oval frames (our cameos fit PERFECTLY inside these)

All the new arrival charms came be found in our charm section or new arrivals

AND ...

With so many new mediums out there I thought I would show you some my2angels stock and what works on charms

Starting with Paint Dabbers, I was really surprised that this worked and so glad because how good does the Pitch Black look on our spanner charm?
Gives it a used look with oil stains on it!

We have two new leafing pens in copper and red shimmer which goes on brilliantly, just leave to dry for around 10-20 minutes and
ta da you have coloured charms

of course you don't have to colour the whole charm in ... perhaps on some areas that have deep grooves just fill in the gaps for an aged look

and then we have Zing Embossing Powder

We have stickles on our circle pendant and topping the cupcake charm is white opal liquid pearls then a rhinestone to top it off

and on this circle pendant, dimensional magic and again liquid pearls on the cupcake charm
The circles in the background is created by using  white opal liquid pearls

The above example is from this layout using October 5 & Dime papers ..

Our antique bronze chain is a perfect match with the Tim Holtz Hanging Sign covered in Antique Linen Crackle Paint  (we are currently out of this die but if anyone would like a hanging sign just let me know when you make your next order and  I will cut a couple up for you)

I am away down in Melbourne teaching 2 layouts at Scraphappy Kats this weekend so all paid order received after midnight Wednesday won't be posted until Monday 1st August ... sorry for any inconvience

How to make a romantic border with felt and charms
by Geli

Here is a little tut on how to alter a metal embelly and use felt ribbon as a border. Hope you like it. The lighting isn't' the best but it's been so cloudy all day it's the best I could do.

Take a piece of double-sided paper (Webster Pages works best for a romantic look. I like how the back has a nice contrast that still matches). Mine was 4x7". Punch both of the longer sides with a border punch or use decorative scissors.

Fold it so that there is a gap between the 2 punched sides.

Put on a piece of 12mm double-sided tape with the ends tucked around and place some lace on it. Give it a few pinches as you lay it down to get a ruffled look. You want the top of the ribbon to be hidden by the folded over paper and tuck the ends around the edge.

I wanted to use a tag charm but the colour didn't stand out enough.
So here's a great way to change the colour of any metal embellishment, including brads and charms
Hold your tag with tweezers and heat with a heat gun (don't try and hold it with your fingers, it'll get hot!!!)

It'll take about a minute.
When it is hot sprinkle embossing powder over it. It'll stick to the hot metal. If it doesn't stick heat it some more. (You will not need any ink.)

Carefully scrap of some embossing powder with a craft knife to reveal the words or any bits you want to highlight.

Attach it to your paper with some bakers twine  and a blue flower
I stapled the very top of the folded edge to keep the paper from popping open and the flower hides one of the staples.

I wanted to make a butterfly from a felt heart  but I didn't have 2 matching ones. But since it's nice and thick I cut it into 2 layers with a craft knife.

An Eiffel tower charm  makes a quirky butterfly body.

For the background I used a piece of felt ribbon as a mask. By spraying it from the back with glimmer mist  I didn't actually change the colour of the felt and can use it again on something else.

I outlined the sprayed image with an old pen that's a little bit dry.
Don't try and do a perfect job (as if!), it'll look better if it's not exact.

Now put it all together and you can use it as a card or as a border for a photo.
