Black Felt Frames ....

Black Felt Frames

is the focus for the weekend

Good Morning everyone
Geli here

I have the my2angels black zig zag felt frame , which is nice and thick with a sticky back and easy to attach BUT I'm not a fan of black frames and borders on photos (where I grew up they're only used for dead people).
I'm not the superstitious kind but I can't help it.
So something needed to be changed.

Here is the simple solution: I stuck on 2 lengths of pink stars and scrolls felt ribbon , which I totally adore.

They're so easy to stick: just peel a little section, stick it down, peel some more etc.
Easy as.

Trim off any felt ribbon sticking over the edge

and you now have a totally funky frame (fit for the living, LOL)

Since I hate wasting cute supplies I used the trimmed off bits to decorate the my2angels girlfriends ribbon.  It's enough to go across the bottom of a card.

Geli :)

Hi everyone Tracy here

Here working with our Black Felt Scroll Frames and the Scrapware Natalie Large Frame which is just about identical to our felt frames

Starting off by inking the inner frame with peeled paint distress ink then lightly inking towards the outside BUT using my ink blending tool for the outer parts so I could control the colour ... the outer edge of the frame was covered with Spanish Olive ...

Then I got my Peeled Paint Distress Ink Reinker because it wasn't dark enough for my liking and using the eyedrop applicator that come with the bottle, dropped ink in the middle of the chipboard frame  then blended it to give a darker green (always working in an outward direction of the frame ... and since it is for DS to give more of the boy feel and "army touch" I randomly applied Black Soot Distress Crackle Paint

The dog tag was made from some scrap chipboard and embossed with Zing Metallic Silver Embossing Powder then stamped with words with Stazon Jet Black ... obviously an army dog tag needs our ball and chain.

The date are foam thickers which I covered with Pitch Black Paint Dabber ...just wait around 30 minutes for them to dry

The Scrapware Small Foliage and Scrapware Army Men both had peeled paint distress ink WIPED over it so it didn't fully cover it (giving it a bit of a camouflage feel)

The leaves got some random inkssentials crackle accent applied to them on them.

Then with plyers took the loop off our leaf charms and added them using dimensional magic as an adhesive

and for DD album using the same photo ...
(sorry but purple and my camera don't seem to like each other)

Using the same technique of inking the chipboard background but I only using
Dusty Concord Distress Ink and the reinker but controlling the amount of ink with my blending tool
Giving it a light spray on the outsides with Marshmallow Glimmer Mist and using my fingers wiped  Clear Rock Candy Distress Stickles randomly on both the felt frame and chipboard frame

Lots purple flowers, roses, daisy charms and rose buds
were used for the top piece and a few lilac roses and black roses scattered around the frame

The title is using the Prima Linen Alphas which were placed over our  White Organza Ribbon

and lastly, using the same zig zag felt frame as Geli above
(not your usual wedding portrait but its for DS's album)

The nightfall core dinations cardstock needed "something"
so with a script stamp I randomly stamped with perfect medium then applied perfect pearls for a bit of added interest

Lots of Black and White Bakers twine, Black Cotton Ric Rac and our Camera charms
Silver Horseshoe charm held on by a silver glitter brad (scratch some of the glitter off with a nail file)
See how I didn't put the photo under the frame ... half in and half out for a bit of added interest

Thanks all for me today

Hope these have given you some ideas of creating our felt frames (which are on special until the 20th July)

Hope you all have a wonderful and safe weekend
It is a perfect day here on the Gold Coast for scrapping ... FINALLY WE HAVE RAIN
so I am out of here to scrap
