and here is some inspiration based on the sketch from our wonderful and talented Design Team

First up has to be Wendy :) since she created the sketch for us (thanks so much Wendy I loved working with this sketch)

I’ve used some very yummy October Afternoon papers , Farm Fresh Hay Barn and Fly a Kite Fireflies and Core’dinations Cardinal cardstock. I also used some green scalloped cardstock similar in colour to the Kiwi cardstock.

Using the sketch I cut out my various pieces and machine stitched around them all. The scalloped card was tricky but it came out looking scruffy which I was happy with! I positioned all my pieces and then added my embellishments and title.

The ‘Make Believe Fun’ is from the reverse of the Fireflies paper and the ‘Cheers’ is a combination of alphas. Thickers Jewellery and an alpha from my stash that is exactly the same font as the Scrapware antique chipboard letters in the shop which could be embossed with the Zing Black Glitter embossing powder. The first ‘e’ has been embossed with Tim Holtz Black Embossing Puffs. Around my circle element I have used some black Jenni Bowlin Tiny Circle Alphas

For my embellishments I’ve used a Scrapware Border Fence, a Monster and a Journal Block which I have inked and clear embossed.

I have also used a my2angels Laughter tag which I sanded back and a Boys Cap Charm.

From Corrina with Ben at 6

I decided that, being a birthday pic, I wanted to use bright colours - and what is brighter than Sassafras Lass?!! I used Sass Lass Apple Jack Translate and Nerdy Bird Spritely paper for the background and Sass Lass Apple Jack Glitter Alpha stickers for the banner and the word six. The other background paper was the reverse side of a piece of SEI Happy Days Cake Walk paper.
For the title I used October Afternoon Thrift Shop alphabet stickers and coated them with dimensional magic to make them stand out on the bright paper. The journalling was a free font on my computer, printed onto cardstock and mounted onto chipboard.

I painted a buzz and bloom chipboard present with acrylic paint, then added a cute little bronze My 2 Angels love charm. It was the perfect size!
Materials Used:
cardstock : coredinations
embellishments: my2angels blue flower, my2angels Antique Bronze Love Charm, Buzz and Bloom chipboard present, red button, die cut heart, old chipboard number, natural coloured crochet thread
products: dimensional magic, acrylic paint.

And from our Taryn

I have used the gorgeous October afternoon Cherry Hill Cookie Jar, Tea Towel, and Die Cut Journal Tags. To create this layout, and added some Pink Stars and Scrolls Felt Ribbon, bling Happy Birthday words.

Of course, I have also used some scrapware chipboard branches, which I have painted green, with splatters of cream paint, and for the flowers, I have used pink mulberry flowers, and mini gardenias, with a little cream paint, and topped off with a cherry charm.

and from Tracey

I decided to be different and use Wendy's gorgeous sketch as inspiration for a Birthday card. It was the perfect sketch to use lots of layering on a card. Loved it! Thanks Wendy :)

This is my take on the August sketch for my2angels birthday month.

It just so happens that it was also my daughter’s 3rd birthday a week or so ago so I had the perfect photos to use. Can I just say a big HAPPY BIRTHDAY to my2angels and congratulations Tracy for such a fantastic store!

OK now for the fun part..... Wendy’s sketch was really easy to use and allowed for heaps of personal creativity and flair. For the patterned paper blocks I used Fancy Pants Simplicity and Making Memories Cheeky range – Abby words.

If you look also underneath the photo there is a strip of the Making Memories Cheeky range – Abby Numbers. These are all on super special at the moment in store, so get there now before they go! For the number strip I cut about a 1.5cm strip but as my daughter turned 3, I actually manually cut around these and glazed them with dimensional magic to make them pop out. The edges of the Abby words paper were distressed with the ink blending tool and black soot ink.

There is also a tutorial on this technique if you haven’t used one before....they are fantastic by the way!

For the title I have used chipboard letters embossed with Black Glitter Zing. Other embellishments used for this sketch were the absolutely gorgeous Black flower ribbon slide.....OMG how stunning are these, heaps of sparkle power!! I simply slid this onto the hot pink corrugated satin ribbon, placed one long strip of double sided tape on the back and adhered the whole thing onto the LO. This is the same ribbon I have used for the bow in the top right hand corner which was embellished also with a silver present charm.

Finally for the semi circle element on the bottom left hand corner of the sketch I gathered a small piece of the lime corrugated satin ribbon and stitched it with black embroidery thread.

Because I couldn’t help myself I also added to this little embellishment cluster a silver double star charm.

Have fun!

Keonie

We hope you will give the sketch a try
