Last of the DT inspiration for June

Wendy is lucky last for the month of our DT inspiration with ...

A special layout for a special girl!

Tracy knows how much I love black and white!! So the reverse of this Webster’s paper was perfect for me!

I trimmed a little off 2 sides of the paper and distressed the edges, I then machine stitched it to some Core-dinations Snowflake cardstock. I then gave an A5 piece of cream/beige cardstock the same treatment.

The my2angels white scalloped felt frame was sprayed with Raven Glimmer Mist and the black and white photo was distressed and stuck over the top of the frame. The title is mixed Thickers Daiquiri and some other glittered alphas from my stash. I finished off with a heart ribbon slide (rod removed) a black flower, some pink ribbon, some pearl pins and some my2angel rhinestones in pink and silver which I put in the centre of all the flowers on the Webster’s paper.

Other bits and pieces:
Maya Road Pearl Pins

Thread

Other Alpha

And here is a super quick card made with some leftover Websters papers, orange cardstock, some ribbon and a Round Silver Ribbon Slide. The alpha is Sassafras and the pins are Maya Road.

To make your own pins similar to the ones I have used on my LO and card, visit the tutorial by Tracy in the resource section of the website.

And have you seen the new arrivals section? Oh I have been having some fun with all of these goodies!
And YIPEE Diamond Dust is finally back in stock!

See ya next month LOL

Start the week off with 3 cards

Today we have a set of 3 Cards to share with you created by Corrina ...

I have a little container on my desk that contains the leftover of past projects (- or the ghosts of projects past as I like to call them) and before I knew it, I had 3 cards made to share.

Green Card...

I followed Taryn's tutorial Paper Bag Flowers to make the rose centre, and Wendy's tutorial Felt Flower to make the tulle flower at the very back (both found in the resource section at the my2angels website). The white crochet flower is one I made ages ago.

materials used:
Red Card...

I drew the shoe shape onto thick chip card then covered it with the lovely websters paper. The background dot effect is a cuttlebug dots embossing folder.

materials used:

Blue Card...

I cut a frame out of the Websters Paper Life's Portrait Reflections, then used the other dotty side for the card. The butterfly is cut out of one of the ATC cards available in store, and it's wings have been edged with diamond dust. The saying is an old rub-on I had lying around. The flourish is half a black rhinestone flourish.

materials used:
blue coredinations cardstock, Websters Papers Life's Portrait Reflections, black flowers acrylic chain, black rhinestone flourish black ric rac, diamond dust, ATCs miniature postcards butterflies, loose clear rhinestones, black ink for edges.

I just love these cards Corrina, all made from just about the same products but so different and striking with the black and white

Hope everyone had a great weekend

Petite Frames, Cards and a Canvas

Check out this little cutie from Corrina ...

Love Blooms Mini Canvas

I wanted something a little fun for my study, and my2angels has all these gorgeous glimmer mists... and I have a wee stash of chipboard... and then these too too cute petite frame charms came in my DT pack, and here is the result.

I started by misting a plain white canvas in a rainbow effect with 4 different glimmer mists - denim blue, honeydew, pink taffy and yellow daisy.

While that was drying, I misted a scrapware vine with black magic glimmer mist (on the naked chip it went a gorgeous dark grunge gold colour), a scrapware bird on a branch, and a scrapware snail from the bugs set with black magic and denim blue mists. The Buzz and Bloom flowers were from the arboretum set, and they were also misted.
I cut the faces of my three gorgeous children out and placed them into the my2angels petite silver frames. I love the effect of the gorgeous little frame charms on this.

The title is out of the ever handy Carolee's Creations Adorn It Tiny Letters.

And some gorgeous cards to share from Guest DT Sandra ...

‘Flower Card’ – Some more embossing and a 3D’d flower made from Websters Love Yourself paper. I coloured it with light and dark pink markers to add a bit of dimension, and finished it off with some black velvet ric rac and a rhinestone in the centre.

‘Thinking of You’ card

I loved the flowers and the butterfly in the paper, Websters Pages Pure Grace, so chose simply to pop a pearl in the middle of each flower and to dimensional magic the wings of the butterfly (perhaps a bit hard to see in the photo).

I’ve added some random lace and pink ric rac and another gorgeous gardenia to finish it off. With the charm, I popped a little antique bronze ‘love’ charm inside the petite silver frame, coloured the background and filled it with dimensional magic.

I love the effect of this one with a charm in a charm!

And finally, I cut a frame from Websters Lifes Portrait Reflections Pattern Paper, added a white canna lily, brown gardenia and a couple of leaf charms and created a journalling card for a future layout

Thank you so much Sandra for sharing your wonderful creations this month with us, its been so inspiring and I too, love your idea of the charm in the charm

Hope you all have a wonderful weekend

From weddings to babies

I finally have made a start on my brothers wedding photos (he was married in 2003!)

The base for my layout is Core dinations Scarlett Cardstock, covering my homemade chipboard frame is Teresa Collins Mr and Mrs Stripe Pattern Paper and framing the photo is our Black Scroll Felt Frame

Before I go on, as my daughter and mother pointed out the large scrapware audrey mannequin with wedding dress (a silk camisole I picked up from lifeline specifically for this layout) is facing the opposite way to the photo I know I know but I didn't start this layout intending to use this photo! Mothers & daughters I tell ya!

Anyhow moving on ...

Precious Moments cut from Teresa Collins Chic Bebe Girl Mini Tags and foam taped for dimension (and to cover the staples behind - staples are the only thing I have found that will attach tuelle to paper! So plan your layout ahead if using tuelle, unlike me who decided to add the tuelle to mimic my sister-in-law's veil AFTER I had completed the layout!!!

Our mini white gardenia, red stemmed flowers, love engraved felt heart and our large silver heart locket charm. The word love is cut from the Teresa Collins Mr & Mrs Labels pattern paper

and stamped flourishes (using Stampology Double Scroll Clear Stamp which will be in stock by the end of next week) embossed AC black glitter embossing powder with red rhinestones.

And from Tracey ...

Here is a super quick layout I did using the black felt scroll frame.

Black and White Mini Gardenias - their tips highlighted with Kindy Glitz Black
23mm White Mulberry Flowers
Mulberry Paper Leaves - Green Brown and Rose
Circle Pendants
10 Large Journalling Tags
Buzz and Bloom Chipboard - that 70s alphabet

3mm Black Rhinestones Flourish
Black Flowers Acrylic Chain strip used on the photo

Not sure how much creating I am going to get done in the next few weeks with the school holidays starting this Friday YUK
Anyone got a spare room for me?
I am house trained and it will only be for a fortnight! LOL

More frames from the DT

Firstly from Wendy ...

Carrying on with the frames theme this month here, I have done another layout using Webster’s Life’s Portrait papers. The photo is of Corrina and myself taken at the awesome ‘Day with Becky Fleck’ we went to at the beginning of May!

My background is brown cardstock, I then made two cardstock and paper mats using some ‘Pure Grace’ paper. I matted the paper on more cardstock and stitched around the edges twice. The photo was also mounted and stitched around.

In the top left of the cardstock I cut out a ‘photo corner’ shape, which I put paper behind, before again stitching around the edges. The flower is a gorgeous my2angels mini peach gardenia sprayed with Marshmallow Glimmer Mist (although the sparkle doesn’t show up very well in the photo).

For the title, I have used a combination of White Holly Doodle Alphabet Stickers and Carole’s Creations Tiny Chocolate Alpha Stickers.

For the word ‘DAY’, I have used some my2angles Petite Silver Frames that I have painted the middles of with cream paint and then used Inkssentials Crackle Accent to give them a vintage feel.

I also used some creamy pearls in various parts of the LO including the centre of the gardenia.

and from Tracey ...

I just could not get a decent photo of this one sorry - its the acetate!

This is a wall hanging I made using 2 of the white scalloped edged felt frames that I put onto some clear acetate. Then I stamped the sentiment and decorated the frames with some mini gardenias, canna lillies, leaves, charms and rhinestones.

Today is all about cards

First up from our Guest DT Sandra ...

I love black and white, and add in a few dots, and I couldn’t be happier

These round rhinestones buckles are just devine, and with a simple scrap of paper, cuttlebug-embossed background, you have a quick and easy card for a special occasion

With ‘Birthday Wishes’ I decided to 3D the flower print on the Webster’s Pure Grace paper – well, not by cutting it out, but by choosing flowers of a similar colour and shape and adding them onto the paper with rhinestones to centre them.

I love the script in this paper and chose 2 circle pendants, cut out another script paper to size, matching the colours/tones and popped it into the charm. I used dimensional magic, 3-4 coats to build it up to look like balloons. A couple of pieces of string and a knot, and I was done. I used my ‘cloud’ nesties for the background for the sentiment but the Buzz and Bloom chipboard clouds would work just as well covered with snowflake cardstock

From Taryn ...

I had some bits and pieces left over from my my2angels frames
kit, so decided to create this card.

I cut a medallion from some Life's Portrait Pure Grace paper, and also used it for the background of the card, and I cut a frame and some birdcages from the Life's Portrait Reflections paper, as well as using a strip of the striking polka dot on from the reverse side of the Reflections.

There is some cotton lace, and pink beads threaded through the ribbon slide, and I stamped the message inside the little frame and
highlighted the edges with some liquid pearls.

And lastly from me

I actually made a card!
My cousin welcomed his first baby into the world last week

The Teresa Collins Bebe Girl Collection is perfect for baby girl projects.

On the front is our white scalloped felt frame creating a window with acetate. The mini pink gardenia has been covered in diamond dust (which will be back in stock towards the end of the month - sorry for the delay to everyone who has been asking for it.) With our large white tag tucked underneath I inked the edges black, cut out one of the crown from the Teresa Collins Chic Bebe Girl Ledger paper and covered with dimensional magic and a final touch with our princess crown charms

Inside the frame, is the back side of the Teresa Collin Fleur de Lis paper, stripe off the growing paper, baby girl tag from mini tag paper and to finish off our baby feet charm & pram charm attached to a Hero Arts pink button on our pretty white with pink tips flowers.

Now to make a gift to match!

Hope you weekend has been fun and creative
See ya soon

Layouts with Websters Pages

I have actually completed some layouts!

No OTP's for a change LOL.

I do have one or two OTP's that I completed for our display at the show to share with you, just got to get around to taking the photos.

Anyhow my first layout is using the Websters Pages Lifes Portrait Pure Grace

I framed the cute photo of my daughter on her grandad's shoulders, with our scalloped white felt frame

Frames cut from Websters Pages Lifes Portrait Reflections pattern paper with our together tag charm

Embossed Scrapware Chipboard Naomi with Brown Sugar Embossing Powder.
And our Brown acrylic chain and
2cm White Cotton Lace Border

Upclose of using topaz rhinestones to centre the flowers on the pattern paper

Peach gardenias with petal pink liquid pearls applied to the edges

I cut around half of the butterfly from the pp and foam taped it giving a 3d effect. Topaz rhinestones were used also down its body

Cutting 2 circles (one bigger than the other obviously LOL), ink them with Jumbo Java , rock candy on the top circle foam taped them together it and hang from it our brown organza ribbon, bronze key charm and bronze heart locket charm

And my 2nd layout ....

First I ripped a strip off the Websters Pages Life's Portrait die cut (I have to say I did hesitate about cutting such a beautiful piece of paper) and replaced it with cardboard that I painted black.

Keeping the frame off the strip, I cut around it and cracked with Inkssentials Crackle Accent and wrote the date inside with Inkssentials White Opague Pen great pens for writing on black.

Also with the strip I cut small rectangles to create bricks, distressed the edges and inked with black. Here I used one of the bricks and attached our love charm

All bricks were attached using foam tape to give some dimension

I hope you all have a relaxing, fun and creative weekend
Take Care
