Me and Dad with Webster's Pages

This is a very dear layout to me.

This is of my Dad and I who I lost 5 years ago.

I have only ever been able to put one layout together of Dad.. Too hard for me to do.

I have had this favourite photo out of us on other paper and trying to work on it for 5 months now.. I have changed it around, changed the paper, cried, stopped, started… and this time I have put it together using the simply stunning Websters Pages Ladies and Gents collection. I love this collection and it seems to just flow for me. I still took forever putting it together but that was all the emotions going on too.

Seems silly but that is our inner self I guess.

I have used the lovely Ladies and Gents Die Cut. I love these. They look so pretty. I have inked up the edges to give it more definition. I have cut out the cute as mirror off the Ladies and Gents Framed Beauty paper and a couple of the beautiful stickers they put out with each and every collection they design. I love the sweet words on these sticker pages. So many to use.

The background paper I have used is the Ladies and Gents Time of my life. This is super cute and I have have used a Martha Stewart punch for the edge using the blue side of this gorgeous paper. I love clusters in the corner using my2angels stash. I have sprayed up one of Tracys Gardenias using Tattered Angels Glimmer mist. I have used Coffee Shop Brown... Covered a tag using some of the scrap paper and a Tim Holtz Love tag. And of course one of my favourite charms.. The crown. Love this! I have inked up the Scrapware Chipboard Antique Lowercase Alphas Mini.

I have inked these up too to give them the distressed aged look.. Seriously girls.. This range is so beautiful I have lots of scraps that I am going to make some delicious cards from so watch this space as I will be posting them soon.

Take care and have a fantastic weekend.

Playing with Websters Pages

by Corrina

Hi Everyone!

I decided to set myself a challenge this month...as if finding time to scrap isn’t challenging enough at the moment!
Anyway, I thought “why not try a monochromatic layout...?”

Monochromatic layouts is just a fancy way of saying layouts that stick to one colour theme, and really are not as daunting as you may think.

The hardest thing is picking your colour.

The easiest way to do this is to look carefully at your photo for a strong or prominent colour to either tone with or highlight.

This beach picture of my son and one of our dogs really needed a soft beach colour, so for this layout, I went with a soft sea aqua with white theme.

The papers I used are Echo Park and Websters

I used the soft aqua side of the Echo Park Little Boy Strawberry & Sky paper and roughly sanded it with sandpaper. I encouraged the paper to peel back a bit. I layered this with a 6 inch sheet of paper from the Websters 6 x 6 inch paper pad. The dotty paper is the back of the Echo Park Little Boy Journalling Cards.

I machine stitched around the photo and stitched the Blue velvet ric rac to the layout, then added the embellishment cluster to the right hand side.

The cog was cut from chipboard using a Tim Holtz sizzix die, then painted with white paint. I inked a My 2 Angels time piece with aqua ink then coated with Tim Holtz rock candy.

I cut a journalling square from the Echo Park Little Boy Journalling Cards paper, and machine stitched with a zig zag around it to add texture.
The word ‘forever’ was added using Adorn It lettering.

Now I really REALLY wanted a love heart for this, but the only one I had was one of our my2angels engraved with Love felt hearts in bright barbie pink! So I altered it using white paint and then aqua ink to make it fit my colour scheme. (Don’t be afraid to alter your embellishments!!!)
The final touch was one our new acrylic silver flowers.

For the title I used American Crafts I Do Emerald flocked hay alphas that were originally a sandy yellow colour until I attacked them with white paint and modelling paste.
(as I said, don’t be afraid to make things fit your colour scheme!)
I finished it off with one of our little boy with caps silver charms.

Materials Used:

Products Used aqua ink, Tim Holtz rock candy, white acrylic paint, modelling paste.

Hope you liked it!!

Tube vase
by Geli

Last time I got some more baker's twine some of them came rolled onto cardstock tubes. In my mind I right away though of using them for something cool.

So I made a little tube vase for the side of my kitchen cupboard, which is a drab grey (yuck).

I used some of the leftover Trendsetter's papers to cover each tube (you could cut up a paper towel roll too) and tied them together with some twine and a generous amount of Pritt glue .

Once dry I added a Cabochon flower , a key charm , a tag charm , a banner with another Webster sticker, a butterfly from the Trendsetters Leaders paper and a felt heart .

Check it out, you got 4 of those lovely felt hearts for free with your order last month!

My grey kitchen wall looks a lot more cheery now.
You could also put a glass test tube in each of those and put some real flowers in.

Cards with Websters Pages & do you live on the Gold Coast, Qld?

Hi all
Corrina here with you today

I was having a little play with my Websters 6 in x 6 in paper pad to make my son’s birthday card recently, and I thought why not whack up some quick cards at the same time?
We ALL need those few extra just-in-case cards in our stash – yes? So here they are:

Firstly, my son’s birthday card:

It was such a deceptively easy card to do. You receive 2 pieces of each design in the paper pad. There was a really cute yacht paper in there and it was perfect for layering. I covered the entire front of a card with one piece so the yachts and the fireworks fitted on.

From the 2nd sheet of the same design, I cut the sails out, lightly inked them and stuck the sails down onto the card using glue on one side and foam tape on the other to make it pop out.
I added some blue velvet ric rac ‘water’, a strip of star pattern paper from the Websters pad, and a scrap piece of aqua from the ‘ghosts of projects past’ drawer.

I used an AC Thickers Jewelry Box Alpha number 8, and finished off with kindyglitz highlights on the boats and fireworks.

Happy Birthday Card:

For this card I used 3 small pieces of co-ordinating papers from the Websters paper pad
I punched along the back edge of a card using a fancy edge punch, and then covered the front of the card using the 3 different pieces of paper.

The flower was created using 4 mulberry flowers that I cut the petals into sections and layered them up to create a really large flower.

I inked the edge of a my2angels Happy Birthday pin with red ink, stuck it on as a flower centre and finished off with a red organza bow and a touch of Kindyglitz and diamond dust on the flower petals.

Birthday Time Card:

For this card I covered the front of a black card with a cute piece of
Websters paper that had some bird in a nest. I left a thin 2mm border all the way around.

I added some scrapware clock hands, and added the words ‘birthday time’ in Carolee’s Creations Adorn It lettering

I then covered the join where the clock hands are with a piece of  lace tied into a bow, some leaves hand cut from Websters papers and some of our new yummy acrylic flowers

I added a little final touch with Kindyglitz on the acrylic flowers, and a dot on the flower centres in the birds nest design print of the paper.

Materials Used:
Papers & cardstock: A5 sized cardstock, Websters 6x6 inch paper pad

Enjoy !! C x

The Daily Junque range is perfect for layering....there's lot's of awesome ephemera type bits and bobs to cut out and layer layer layer!!!

Isn't the hot air balloon the cutest?? I layered it on top of the "Adventure Card" from the Ephemera pack, I inked around the edges with some Black Soot Distress Ink.....LOVE how it makes stuff just pop off of the page!! Of course I added some fab Twine, chopped up a felt frame.....and popped on some yummo resin flower cabs!
Honestly I CANNOT get enough of these three things...they are my go to embellies when I need to add a little somethin somethin!

This Scrapware penny farthing bike is all sorts of AWESOME!! I had to add some doodling....just cos I can.....

More Scrapware goodness...this time I used the "Off" out of the Scrapware Blast Off chippy....
The little alphas are Jenni Bowlin Tiny Circle stickers & the "Adventure" is the other half of the adventure card from the ephemera pack

Ok next up.....more layering goodness on this one.......Can you see the Scrapware large impact alpha chippy I've layered everything on?? I had previously used it for a mask with some glimmermist & it was kinda looking funky soooo I chopped it in half...and VOILA!! Some awesome texture : ) I've layered the title....which I used Thickers for over a Scrapware Journalling Square.....

More Twine of course...and I've actually used the banner flags from the Pink Paislee Hometown Summer Border Pack ....OMG you won't believe how jam packed this pack is with banner stickers!!! It is such AWEOSME value!!!

More layering.....and another one of my FAVES....buttons! I've popped some bling on a Jenni Bowlin Butterfly Sticker.....

Sooooo this range was perfect for some pics of my gorgeous little man enjoying some fruit! Num Num!
I've used one of the banners from the Summer Border Sticker pack as a mask to spray glimmermist over....the watermelon stickers are from the pack too...just chopped up one of the borders....Can you see the peek of the blue felt scroll ribbon popping out....love how it adds instant texture....Oh and the "Summer ABC's" and the little boy circle is from the Hometown Summer Punch Outs Pack...

Another button, gorgeous green Gardenia & a lubbly jubbly Scrapware Cloud Journalling bit!

If you are still with me.......We are on to the last lo.....and this one comes with a little tutorial...HA! and you thought we were nearly finished........

Hokey Pokey.....I've made a little scene here....
I've used MORE Twine & Buttons.....of course! Along with some more bits from the Hometown Summer Punch Outs pack.....Which the sun comes from too...Oh and I LOVE splattering glimmermist.....just unscrew the nozzle and flick mist on with the plastic tube bit thingy...

Love these Scrapware Journal Bits Clouds....I've covered them with some pp, sanded around the edge then stamped with clear embossing ink & embossed with clear embossing powder & sanded around the edges....

For the first flower I sprayed some white mulberry flowers with some glimmermist & doodled around the edges.....I tied Ric-Rac around the flower stems for the leaves...

For the second Flower.....Grab some a Hambly Transparency then trace 2 each of 3 different size cicles....I use whatevers on hand...

Next Cut out with some decorative scissors...

Spray with some Glimmermist

Then using a heat gun dry the mist...as you do this the edges will curl up....

Finally layer them and use a brad to keep them all together...and there you have it a funky, different flower!

Cathy C
Amber B
Amanda T
Kerry B
Adele T
Chrissy H
Melissa C
Louise D
Milly G
Shannon T
Helen H
I apologise for the delay in some of these being posted, my fault totally, but with the move and lost of internet for 9 days I am abit behind.  Melissa assures me the remainder will be posted next week

Want a different idea for using the bottlecaps?  Well this took me 30 minutes to make (excluding the drying of the various mediums)

I love this Prima Pastiche Heartstrings but could never find the right style of photos to go with it so now I get to enjoy the paper always by using it for my "Remember to order" clipboard ... I have paper everywhere with requests from customers to order in products ... so now they all have their own special spot until I ordered them.  The bits of paper will just slip under the paper clips

It is made from a Pizza Box, which I covered with the pretty paper.  I used another piece of pizza box, just a little larger for the backing (to make it more sturdy) and the edges have been painted with Aged Mahogany Distress Crackle Paint

Piece from the pattern paper covered with Inkssentials Crackle Accent and a Tim Holtz Game Spinner

the other bottle caps have been dressed up with our flower embellishments

I could certainly dress this up a lot more, but I decided to make it while typing up the newsletter today, so it had to be quick before the sun disappeared on me and lost the lighting for the photos

Hope you are all having an enjoyable and safe long weekend

I wish I was a Hippie Chick

"I wish I was a hippie chick"
by Geli

The new Websters range "Trendsetter" is just what my inner hippie loves.
The colour combo is so funky and unusual; I really like the orange, teal and bright pink together. I even bit the bullet and took a photo of myself.

My neighbour was very obliging by growing a matching tree!

The die cut paper  makes a perfect background and I teamed it with a muslin frill and some pink sorbet baker's twine  to define the edge.

Simply glue the twine on, it's easy and doesn't take long to dry.

The photo is matted on some Accessorise paper  and I cut out the cute VW Beetle from  Handsome Vintage paper  and butterflies from Leaders paper! .

The little antennae are always a little tricky to cut out and I prefer to use cream flower stamens instead.

The vine branches (similar ones:scrapware vines)   have been covered in Dimensional Magic  with a little bit of glitter added.

The scrapware lamp post  is covered in some foil

and the scrapware doily frame  has been embossed with embossing powder.
There are so many ways to use chipboard!

I had some felt flowers that went really well with the hippie theme but the little white resin flowers  are fast becoming my favourites.

You can add them to just about anything and they come in so many colours. The backs are flat and it makes gluing them on a breeze.

I also really like how you can get matching alpha stickers  with each set of Webster pages, it makes colour matching easy and you get a choice of 4 colours on each sheet.
All in all, my inner hippie is pleased with the result!

and from Wendy

A layout using Bo Bunny Ad Lib! Very bright funky papers, which suited my beach photos perfectly!
I started, as I often do, with a white cardstock background, which I have then ‘paint stamped’ blue and green circles all over, using a piece of packaging tube!! Cool eh?!?  I’ve then used the Ab Lib Wild Thing paper for the large piece of my background and added 2 circles of the Vertigo. I inked all the edges with VersaMagic Jumbo Java and then dot stitched along some of the stripes on the circles. I’m so into stitching at the moment, real and fake!!!

I did use a lot of 3d tape on this LO, even the main piece of Wild Thing is stuck on with 3d tape!

All the little stickers from the Combo Alpha Stickers have been stuck onto some black board to make them stand out too.

For the title I’ve used a piece of the reverse pattern of the Vertigo paper and I’ve used the aqua stickers from the Combo Alpha Stickers and some Thickers Daiquiri in my NEW favourite colour, green!!!!

Seeing as we did lots of bike riding on this day I have added a my2angels Bike charm on a smaller circle of the Vertigo paper and added various words using Carolees Creations Tiny Etched Natural Alpha Stickers and some old rub-ons that I found in my stash. Some outlining of the words and more dots and I was done!

 Other: Blue Paint, Green Paint

I really love these papers!
Back with more soon!
Wendy

And from Me, Tracy

I only got a few layouts done this weekend despite the kids being away but I can't show you what I have done because they are for the first lot of classes I will be having here .. details will be up on the website and blog once I get more organised and arrange a timetable.

But I do have this for you ... if you want a gift idea for any birthdays or if you do the "Mothers Day" thing this is what I organised between my brother and my sister for mum for Christmas ... I might just add at this point that my sister lives in Scotland and YES I POSTED HER THE "M" and also the posted "U" up to my brother who lives in Townsville)

and I thought why stop there, my nephew was over from NZ and I was already posting letters up to Townsville so I organised this for mum as well ...

not the best of photos but you get the idea

I am off to unpack my latest delivery ... which includes a restock of Tim Holtz inks

Hope you all have a great week
