Make your own flowers

Make your own Flowers

I finally got off my butt and made a tutorial on how to make Organza Ribbon Rose Buds (well I did promise Anthea back in August 2010 at Scraphappy Kat's retreat that I would write it up ... but you know Rome wasn't built in a Day!)

So with the help of Lisa Webb's hands, who came to visit last week I finally have written it up and you can find it in our tutorial section (it's on page 2) ...

And these are what they look like ....

this is what a silly DT member does once we have finished photographing the instructions ....

and also that same silly DT member does when I am not looking ....

And of course I had to make something using the rose buds ....
ta da ...

First inking the paper machie flower pot (from spotlight) lightly with pink ink and then painting with Picket Fence Crackle Paint

Hung one of our pink birdcage pins with silver twist chain in the front

Large piece of chipboard with a butterfly charm on it is Scrapware Alyssa Flourish which I also painted with Picket Fence Crackle Paint

then adding the pretty Websters Snow Trim Ribbon which you probably can't see because I then added loads of pink flowers, pink stemmed flowers, pink gardenias
and charms, of course!

Birdhouse charm
Bumble Bee charm
Leaf charms
Large Daisy Charms

I tried using the wider organza ribbon for these buds but they didn't bloom as well as using the thinner organza ribbon

and while on the subject of making your own flowers ... I saw these new Websters florrets

and thought hang about ....

We have metallic cream skeleton leaves

and we have cream stamens

and I have a hot glue gun to glue it all together ....

and we have gold stamens

so I can make these ...

and then I am thinking (dangerous I know!)

Make a little cut in the middle of our yellow mulberry flowers

add some cream stamens

or use our White with Yellow Centre Flowers and our gold stamens

and you have these ...

So there you have it ... easy peasy ah?

Hope everyone's having a great weekend
see ya back here soon

They are all fantastic and I love the skeleton leaf idea, and you could even give them a squirt with some glimmer mist to give them the colour in the centre if you like :) Went and read your tutuorial as well and I have tried making those but seeing it in writting sure helps make it make sense. You may even make me feel better enough to go create :)

Wow... you are so friggin talented Tracy. these flowers are just gorgeous and so easy for us to make ourselves at home as most of us have all the bits needed to make these. I cannot wait to get my hands on my goodies and make my own. As for the silly photos.... It will soon be payback time :-) she says with a big grin x
