Step by Step Boys Layout by Wendy

Hi Wendy here today with a Step by Step layout that I have created for the boys theme this month ....

It was a bit tricky to do a step by step as I don't plan my layout but here goes ...

Select your supplies … I have used:

Core’dinations Cardstock Navy

Fancy Pants ‘Like Father Like Son’ Papers Tike

Scrapware Chunky Chicks

Scrapware Cogs

Scrapware Antique Lower Case Alpha

Buzz & Bloom Photo Corners &

Buzz & Bloom Clouds – which are out of stock but my2angels do have scrapware clouds

OTHER

Chipboard Scallop

spotty button or blue plaid fabric braid

Stamps

Sanding Block

Water Pencils & Aqua Brush

Double Sided Tape

Foam Mounting Tape

Okay so gather all your supplies

For my 5x7 portrait photo I have used 2 pieces of the pattern papers and cut 25x15cm & 30x12cm.

Sand the edges of both papers and the photo.

This gives a look of matting and matches the white stitching pattern in one of the papers

Next alter your chipboard pieces.

I have used water colour pencils and a water brush for this layout but you could use paints, inks or markers to colour with.

Colour to match your papers.

I have coloured by Scrapware ‘cogs’ as suns, as they are a perfect shape for this.

As I was a ‘c’ short I cut one out of the reverse pattern of one of my papers

Stick down your papers and your photo overlapping each on the other until you are happy with the look.
Leave room for the photo corner on the top right hand corner of your photo

Then play with the layout of your chipboard. I always do this before I stick anything down (and this photo was taken before any sticking).

I have made my title vertical but there is plenty of room on this layout to have a horizontal one if you prefer.

After my initial mock up I had added a cloud, a piece of scalloped chipboard for my chick to sit on and also cut some journal strips out of scrap cardstock.

I used a purple pumpkin spotty button that I had in my stash but you could use a blue plaid fabric braid that my2angels have in store

I hope you like it

Wendy
