Frames on layouts from our DT

Finally back to normal, after the show in Brisbane on the weekend, which was a great success and I have to mention a big THANK YOU to my mother (who pointed out to me with a tone of sarcasm in her voice that at least Taryn mentioned her in the comments left on my blog whoops I think I was told off LOL) for all your help this past 3 months and for over the weekend I COULD NOT have done it without you.

We had a lot of positive feedback and it was so nice to meet so many of you who have been customers over the past few years. (PS Zoe I didn't forget ordering the grungeboard for you it will be here early next week)

We have some fabulous inspiring layouts from our Perth DT girls to share with you today

First from Corrina ...

Sisters...

This layout is one of my two girls together at our local park. I took these pictures on Mother's Day afternoon this year, after I got a bee in my bonnet about having some fun shots of my girls together before they are both stinky grunting teenagers who won't look at the camera. They were still in their nice clothes from lunch but still ran around like idiots in the autumn leaves. I captured this one shot.

For this layout I have used Websters Lifes Portrait Pure Grace and Prima Flights of fancy - Ladybug papers. I fancy cut the very edge, butterfly and part of the scroll work from the Websters paper, being careful to keep it all in one piece. I coated this with rock candy to give it a crackly look and to give this a little bit more stability, and added just a touch of kindy glitz to the butterfly. I added peach and brown gardenias between the frame and the scroll work as they reminded me of the leaves in the background of the picture, and I randomly placed some loose rhinestones around the embellishments. (and yes, the leaves used to be white too until I attacked them with glimmermist..)

I lightly sanded the 'together' word charm to make the word really pop and adhered it to a white my2angels scalloped frame. I then sprayed the charm and frame with black magic glimmermist. I was really pleased with how easily the felt gobbled up the spray (not repellent at all), and the spray clung to the charm for a gorgeous effect. The frame and photo are mounted on the leftover Websters paper, and I used the entire piece of Prima paper as the background.

I punched a circle centre out using a circle punch for the diamonte round ribbon slide. (I was very happy to find I had a punch the perfect size!!) and used the buckle as a frame for part of the title.

Materials Used:
papers: Websters Lifes Portrait Pure Grace; Prima Flights of Fancy - Ladybug
flowers: peach gardenias, brown gardenias and white leaves
embellishments: my2angels white scallop frame, round ribbon slide, together word charm, loose clear rhinestones
title: Carolee's Creations Adorn It tiny letter stickers, die cut title.
products: Tim Holtz rock candy, black magic glimmer mist, black ink, pink ink, kindy glitz

From Wendy ...

Now anyone who follows the my2angels blog knows that I am not a ‘pretty’ scrapper! By that I mean I am not a massively fussy scrapper and hence (shock horror!!!) I have not used Websters papers before!!! This month though, Tracy made up our DT packs, asked us to focus on frames, and sent us some Websters Lifes Portrait papers together with lots of goodies from the M2A shop to play with. So flipping over the Reflections paper, to match my style better, I made this LO!

A little out of season I admit, but I chose to make a Christmas LO, so I teamed my spotted paper with Core dinations Nightfall cardstock, which I sprayed with some Marshmallow Glimmer Mist to give it a starry look. I covered the join with Black Velvet Ric Rac and then used White Ric Rac to make three ‘strings’ for my Christmas baubles, which are my2angels Circle Pendant charms! I choose to put my photo on top of the Black Felt Scroll Frame as it was slightly too large to go behind it, I sanded the edges to make it stand out a little better.

I then added a Heart & Moon Frame charm for the date and some Silver Self Adhesive Rhinestone Stars for an added bit of bling. I used a Pink Paislee Glitter chipboard alpha and some Carole’s Creations Tiny letter stickers for my title.

Hope they have inspired you to perhaps try your hand at glimmermist and our felt or
maybe look at our frames and pendants in a "framing" kind of way

Before I go, for anyone on this side of Oz there is a fundraising being held next month for Ovarian Cancer. phone or email Michelle to let her know if you are interested in attending

Till next time

Brisbane Scrapbooking and Craft Show

Today was our first day at the Paper craft show in Brisbane and what a busy day it was! We are slightly knacked but meet up with so many people that we were able to know put faces to names / blogs it was great. We were busy all day and I think for a brief minute twice, only twice, we had a few seconds to spare before the next load of people came to visit. Seriously I mean a brief minute - it was crazy!!! Many other ladies at the stands have said it is the quietest Saturday in a long time - holy moly - I would hate to see what it was like on a busy day!

Here are some photos of the stand, not the best of quality, the lighting in the convention centre was terrible and everyone was complaining of sore eyes!

Looking at the stand

our charms on both sides of the picket fence

Our bling and felt display

Next to the bling is our felt

then moving around to our ribbons and the OTP display

and my favourite and the most popular section ... the flower display

Time for bed but first gotta take the sleeping angel, Sarah, up to bed she was so tired that she fell asleep in the car on the way home and now asleep on the couch! Mind you we had her working hard on the till - well the girl's gotta earn her keep some how LOL

Hope you are all having a great weekend

Take care

Frames made from old books

In preparation for our stand at the Brisbane Scrapbooking and Craft show I have made some frames out of old books to display the price lists. And here are the results...

First one, (my favourite) I used the Scrapware Shoe Flourish which I heat embossed in two different colours - base is Glitter Pink and the top flourish in Glitter Black

The paper is from Teresa Collins Chic Bebe Girl Notes Paper and sparkling down the bottom left is our black rhinestone chain

Black mini gardenia, silver evening dress and ladies hat charms

Our silver lopped pin tucked under the gardenia

And for a different type a travel themed frame using Graphic 45 Communique Memorable Postage, (all Graphic 45 pattern papers are on sale this month) scrapware mini aeroplanes and a piece from the scrapware vintage luggage

That's one of Tim Holtz Idea-Ology Trinket Pins on the brown travel tag. The silver clock was a an old stamp and heat embossed with metallic silver

And lastly our friends book frame where I have used the Scrapware Love Fern Tree and Swallow which I coated in picket fence distress crackle paint

Picture is from clipart and our circle pendants I hung from the tree, printed out this quote Friendship is a knot tied by an angel's hand to centre them.

Added some pink pearls, girlfriend ribbon and our pink and white mini gardenias and our friends charm.

Pop down to your local op shop and grab some old books for a different type of frame, they make a great unique present.

I cut out a frame approximately 1/4 of the thickness of the book for the photo. To save time, tape and glue I stapled most of my pages together then sprayed adhesive over the edges of the pages to finish it off.

Hope to be back on Friday or Saturday depending on time, with photos of our display at the show (and this will explain Tracey, what the drilling was all about LOL)

White Felt Scalloped Frames

Todays post is all about our White Scalloped Edged Felt Frames which are self adhesive and currently on special for $1.60

First from Taryn ...

These are some cute shots of Lana and Hayden fooling around at the park! To create this layout, I first created a frame from Life's Portrait Reflections paper (reverse side), and then trimmed down the Life's Portrait Love Yourself paper to fit inside the frame, using some scraps of Life's Portrait Pure Grace paper as photo corners. I also cut out a few mirrors from the Life’s Portrait Reflections paper paper and grouped them together to create a little cluster for my journaling.

I used the my2angels felt frame in white for my main photo, and then created a smaller frame to match around the smaller photo using white
velvet ric-rac. I decorated the felt frame with some rhinestone
flowers
and a love key charm.

For page accents, I used the black gardenias, together with the white canna lillies, and a couple of the gorgeous tag charms. The ribbon slide looks fabulous with a little strip of paper and ric-rac threaded through.

and from Sandra, our June guest DT member ...

“The face of Happiness” ... I wanted to create a simple layout to focus on the photo. I’ve used a beautiful my2angels white felt scalloped frame and my2angels designed rhinestone flourish, as well as Life’s Portrait Reflections paper (other side). I’ve used some lace to break up the edges, rather than distressing, and mounted it on the black cardstock background.

I’ve made a journaling block from my Spellbinders and finished it off with a little frame from Life’s Portrait Reflections, love key charm, little girl charm and the mini black gardenia flower

From DT Tracey ...

Here is a little Brag Book/Mini Album I made using 2 of the my2angels white scalloped frames.

I glimmer misted the frames and then added some of the pretty Websters Pages paper as a background and a Websters Pages Paris Fabric Fancies Webster's Pages Fabric Fancy and then backed it all on some bazzill. Then I punched some holes, added some bazzill pages inside and used some album rings to hold it all together.

The front is decorated with some ribbon, charms, and Bling Rhinestones Corners.

Black Felt Scroll Frames

Our black felt scroll frame is the focus on our first layouts this month ...

First up is our June Guest Design Team member Sandra Wilkinson ...

Sandra has used white and black cardstock giving the layout a bold background and showing off the felt scroll frame in such a stunning way.

Adding a pretty pink ribbon with our silver heart bling buckle and to finish off Sandra has placed a small piece of our pink seed beads over and under the ribbon slide and finished off with our little girl charm

From Taryn ...

For this layout, "Adore", I used Life's Portrait Love Yourself (reverse side) to create two scalloped borders and Life's Portrait Pure Grace paper as the main background. I framed my photo with Tracy's beautiful black felt scroll frame, and added interest around the edges of the frame with some white canna lillies, and a peach gardenia. I also cut the beautiful butterly from the Life's Portrait Pure Grace paper, coated it with rock candy, and added it alongside the gardenia.

To the side of the photo, I have added a medallion cut from the reverse of the Life's Portrait Pure Grace paper, and added a single flower from the Black Flowers Acrylic Chain to highlight the centre of the medallion. Alongside the medallion, I added some gardenias, and topped them with a heart ribbon slide with some lace and black velvet ric-rac.

I have used three of Tracy's petite silver frames on the edge of the page, to create a girly feel, and decorated each of them by adding a flower from the Black Flowers Acrylic Chain in the centre.

For the finishing touches, Tracy's black rhinestone flourish goes beautifully alongside the black felt frame, while the white leaves (with green ink) add interest to the gardenias. I have also added some flourishes and decorative borders using liquid pearls. For more information on how I used the liquid pearls on this layout, be sure to check the Tutorials section of the my2angels website.

From Corrina ...

This is my little guy...he really makes our family complete. He brings an energy and spark that we dearly love.

For this page, I have used the lovely Websters Life's Portrait paper, one side as a backing for the my2angels scroll felt frame - black, and the other side machine stitched to the black backing cardstock.
The tiny grey flowers with bling centres are also cut from this paper (centre of the circles) and glimmer misted with black magic, as were the lovely pristinely white leaves (hehehe). The lovely white canna lilies didn't escape my inking either - just a touch around the edges...

The title sits on a frame cut from the top left hand side of the paper (it has the words Life's Portrait originally in it). I have used lashings of rock candy and diamond dust (and a wee touch of kindy glitz) on this page to give the aged and whimsical feel.

I couldn't resist adding some gorgeous charms to the page, and the circle pendant has the word Love that I cut from the paper, stuck in then coated with crackle accents.

Products Used:
Websters Paper - life's portrait
my2angels scroll felt frame - black
black mini gardenias, white canna lilies, white leaves
circle pendant charm, love key charm and house charm
my2angels black rhinestone scroll
Carolees Creations adorn it lettering
blue ric rac
rocky candy, crackle accents, black ink, black magic glimmer mist, silver rhinestones, diamond dust, crystalina kindy glitz
misc - maya road leaf pins

And there you have it, 3 very different and such gorgeous layouts using our scroll felt black frame. We have so many more creations this month using frames to help inspire you to create ... until next time

TFL
Take care

Another Off the Page to share with you

This off the page project is to showcase our Design Team to be displayed at our first ever stand at the Scrapbooking and Craft being held in Brisbane on Queens Birthday weekend ... So excited we can't wait and if you are attending please come and say hi :)

It is made from a cardboard box - slighty attacked with knife, paint and ink! Sorry Taryn, I keep flashing you LOL, no matter what position I took the photo at:)

Some up close photos to share ...

Scrapware 3d butterfly with a doily inside the wings and sprayed with pink taffy glimmer mist

To make the hinges, I cut up cardboard, heat embossed with american crafts chestnut and our brown metal brads which I stratch to give a bit more of a worn look. The brown flourish is a stamped flourish, like the hinge, heat embossed with american crafts chestnut

Lots of mulberry flowers, stemmed flowers, mini gardenias and our new pink canna lilies to fill the window basket with

The letters I painted and randomly sprinkled Diamond Dust on them.

I have so many more OTP's to share with you that I have made for the show but they can wait! Meanwhile, we have lots of layouts and cards to share from the Design Team this month, who are focusing on different frames from a kit we sent them.

Until next time
