Want a different idea for using the bottlecaps?  Well this took me 30 minutes to make (excluding the drying of the various mediums)

I love this Prima Pastiche Heartstrings but could never find the right style of photos to go with it so now I get to enjoy the paper always by using it for my "Remember to order" clipboard ... I have paper everywhere with requests from customers to order in products ... so now they all have their own special spot until I ordered them.  The bits of paper will just slip under the paper clips

It is made from a Pizza Box, which I covered with the pretty paper.  I used another piece of pizza box, just a little larger for the backing (to make it more sturdy) and the edges have been painted with Aged Mahogany Distress Crackle Paint

I could certainly dress this up a lot more, but I decided to make it while typing up the newsletter today, so it had to be quick before the sun disappeared on me and lost the lighting for the photos

"I wish I was a hippie chick"

The new Websters range "Trendsetter" is just what my inner hippie loves. 

The colour combo is so funky and unusual; I really like the orange, teal and bright pink together. I even bit the bullet and took a photo of myself. 

My neighbour was very obliging by growing a matching tree!

The die cut paper  makes a perfect background and I teamed it with a muslin frill and some pink sorbet baker's twine  to define the edge.

Simply glue the twine on, it's easy and doesn't take long to dry.

The photo is matted on some Accessorise paper  and I cut out the cute VW Beetle from  Handsome Vintage paper  and butterflies from Leaders paper! .

The little antennae are always a little tricky to cut out and I prefer to use cream flower stamens instead.

The vine branches (similar ones:scrapware vines)   have been covered in Dimensional Magic  with a little bit of glitter added.

The scrapware lamp post  is covered in some foil

and the scrapware doily frame  has been embossed with embossing powder.

There are so many ways to use chipboard!

I had some felt flowers that went really well with the hippie theme but the little white resin flowers  are fast becoming my favourites.

You can add them to just about anything and they come in so many colours. The backs are flat and it makes gluing them on a breeze.

I also really like how you can get matching alpha stickers  with each set of Webster pages, it makes colour matching easy and you get a choice of 4 colours on each sheet.

All in all, my inner hippie is pleased with the result!

A layout using Bo Bunny Ad Lib! Very bright funky papers, which suited my beach photos perfectly!

I started, as I often do, with a white cardstock background, which I have then ‘paint stamped’ blue and green circles all over, using a piece of packaging tube!! Cool eh?!?  I’ve then used the Ab Lib Wild Thing paper for the large piece of my background and added 2 circles of the Vertigo. I inked all the edges with VersaMagic Jumbo Java and then dot stitched along some of the stripes on the circles. I’m so into stitching at the moment, real and fake!!! 

I did use a lot of 3d tape on this LO, even the main piece of Wild Thing is stuck on with 3d tape!  

 All the little stickers from the Combo Alpha Stickers have been stuck onto some black board to make them stand out too.  

 For the title I’ve used a piece of the reverse pattern of the Vertigo paper and I’ve used the aqua stickers from the Combo Alpha Stickers and some Thickers Daiquiri in my NEW favourite colour, green!!!! 

Seeing as we did lots of bike riding on this day I have added a my2angels Bike charm on a smaller circle of the Vertigo paper and added various words using Carolees Creations Tiny Etched Natural Alpha Stickers and some old rub-ons that I found in my stash. Some outlining of the words and more dots and I was done!

I only got a few layouts done this weekend despite the kids being away but I can't show you what I have done because they are for the first lot of classes I will be having here .. details will be up on the website and blog once I get more organised and arrange a timetable.

But I do have this for you ... if you want a gift idea for any birthdays or if you do the "Mothers Day" thing this is what I organised between my brother and my sister for mum for Christmas ... I might just add at this point that my sister lives in Scotland and YES I POSTED HER THE "M" and also the posted "U" up to my brother who lives in Townsville)

and I thought why stop there, my nephew was over from NZ and I was already posting letters up to Townsville so I organised this for mum as well ...

Easter Scrapping

Lots of inspiration for you today if you intend to spend the Easter scrapping, like I intend to do.

"Free spirit"

I had some photos of Leah with braids that I thought went well with the theme. The Trendsetter Handsome Vintage paper and Accessorise paper  are the background. I cut around the tree and the birdcage a little bit to slide my photo under.

Just for fun, there is a bird house charm  in the tree.
The Trendsetter District45 paper  has some awesome things to cut out. Do you like my VW Beetle on flower power?



They are the new Pink Resin Cabochons flowers  and gosh, they are cute!
I cut out one of the models too but without hair it looked very odd to me. So I made her some braids from brown baker's twine to match Leah's.



To make the rosette I punched a scallop border from Handsome vintage paper, scrunched it up and glued it behind a circle of Trendsetter Leaders  to look like a ruffle. Add some more yellow baker's twine  to give it a cool border.

This layout uses the gorgeous Pink Paislee Hometown Summer Range, I am so loving green and white at the moment!

I have used Snowflake cardstock and then both sides of the Green Acres paper for my background. I sanded the edges of both papers and then mounted the smaller spotted piece on to some cardboard to lift it off the page.  I then staggered my photos (of the very cute Quokkas) and then set about using some of the PP Hometown Summer accessories.

The banner is from the Border Stickers with Glitter which has some awesome patterns in it, and so easy because they are already made for you!! Then I’ve used the cloud, sun, ‘Summer’ circle, Beautiful Day tag and brown journaling tag from the Punch Outs. 

I’ve also used some of my favourite alphas from the Echo Park For the Record Alpha Cardstock stickers sheet for the words QUOKKA and ROTTO. The date and tab stickers are from this set of stickers too.

The rest of the aphas are Thickers Daiquiri, which I have now discovered in Green, a change from my usual black! And some Jenni Bowlin Tiny Circle Alphas.

 

Now I confess, I stuffed up on my cloud! When I decided to outline the ‘locals’ with black pen at the last minute, I got pen all  over my hand and consequently then got it all over my cloud L SO I ended up having to paint it and then emboss it with white embossing powder. I then added a little china blue embossing around the edges to make it look like the original punch out! And voila, stuff up fixed!

I was ever so lucky to be able to use the gorgeous new Websters Page Ladies and Gentlement pack from Tracy.  Ohhh my…. Their paper just gets better and better every single time. I love the color combos Websters use

 For this layout I have used the Ladies and Gentleman Groomed Traveler paper.  Was a hard decision which side to use as they are both so lovely.  I have also used the neat as a pin Little story tellers timeless letter stickers.  I have used the Framed Beauty Paper and cut out this beautiful frame.  The ideas were endless on what to do with this.  I have actually used a clear Emboss it Ink pad , sprinkled some green lettuce embossing powder over the top and used my heat gun to set the embossing powder.   Love this finished look.   
With the Scrapware bird on a branch I have stamped it using the Tim Holtz ink then added Distress Crackle Paint Clear Rock Candy to it.  Let it dry.  Then added my favorite wee Owl charm

With Tracys wee Blank pins I have just cut out one of the crowns off the paper and adhere it to the pin.  Love these pins.  

 Finally I have added a white Gardenia Mulberry paper flower.  I have sprayed it using 3 Tattered Angels Glimmer mist colors.  Coffee shop lightly first, then the Key lime Pie  and then Apple.  I have then added some white embossing powder, applied the Papermania Heat Gun and then finally added some Diamond dust to the tips of the petals.  Love this Diamond Dust.. It is simply gorgeous.  Not far from a Prima Flower when you have added a few touches.

So go ahead and have a bit of a dabble in the embossing and blinging up world.  It is so much fun.  I am just a newby at it too and it is amazing what you can create.

See you all soon and I am hoping to meet a lot of you at the Scrapbooking and Paper Fair in Brisbane in June.  Our motel is booked for the long weekend and we are planning on having a ball.

Bo Bunny Ad Lib

Hey Hey Hey FABULOUS Gals : )

my2angels got some Bo Bunny Ad Lib in.....and me oh my I just HAD to have some!!!

I've made not one, not two but THREE Ad Lib lo's.....and I'm thinking of doing some more.....

At first the range can look a bit full on...so many bright colours and crazy patterns....but it's actually super easy to work with....so many little bits to cut out and layer!

So let's get this Ad Lib party started......

First up....

I've inked around all the pp with Tim Holtz Distress Ink (Black Soot)

Oh and I LOVE ripping up the pizza boxes my orders come in to add texture to my lo's.....

I made a Kite using some Ric Rac on some pp. I used some more pp cut into bow shapes with rhinestones in the middle and popped them on some twine....looped it on my page...and VOILA.....a Blingin Kite!

I used some Ad Lib stickers & a Thickers bracket & some pp.......

Second LO......

More ripping up pizza boxes...

I've layered the Ad Lib with some Foam mounting tape to make it pop! I added some rhinestones to my doodling along the page border & OH MY GOODNESS I heart the new resin cabachon flowers soooooo much!!! I've used them on all three of my pages.....here I've looped some twine around one....

LOVE these Scrapware clouds.....first I used them as a mask and sprayed some glimmermist over them.....them I covered them in some Ad Lib pp, sanded around the edges, wrapped some twine around.....and there ya have it...some fun whimsical clouds!

Ok last up.....

I've made three flowers which I centered with FAB buttons & resin cabachons, the green flower I made with lime green mulberry flowers & the aqua flower is a Gardenia.I've layered the flowers over the outside frame bit of a Scrapware Chipboard Doily....oh and I couldn't help adding MORE rhinestones.......

Sooooooooo there you have it.....LOTS of Ad Lib Fun : )

Hi Ladies – Ngaire back again to share the fruit of my latest spoils from my2angels.

Tracy has listed some wonderful things in the store lately and I’ve had a lovely time playing with bits and pieces over the last week or so. I really like the vintage/shabby ranges that TPC Studio put out and their new Grandma’s Attic range certainly does not disappoint. The colours are gorgeous – a yummy rich chocolate, cream, sage green, powder-blue and pink – all in a faded out sort of look. The pink is a little hard to match with other things though (my only criticism) – sort of a peach/coral pink rather than a true pink.

The range was perfect for a photo of Madame I have been hanging onto for a while, waiting for the right range to scrap it with.

 I’ve used one of my new Martha Stewart punches on the base paper (Embroidery) for the layout. The design fits in well with the vintage patterns on the paper I think. Over this I put a trimmed down Antique lace, which I ripped out sections of to show the fleur-de-lys pattern on the paper below. I’ve inked the edges with some Java Brown Versamagic ink to keep the original border frame of the paper. The idea for ripping the sections out happened because I wanted to cut out the fan shape from the top paper and I really liked the way the underlying pattern was revealed. A happy accident more so than deliberate design, but hey – it works.

Along some of the ripped edges I put pieces of lace which I coloured with Hot Chocolate Chalk Glimmermist – less shimmery than the original Glimmermist, it was the perfect shabby, but rich, brown to go with the patterned paper. The darker tones on the alphas in the title come from overlaying a coat of the Hot Chocolate over some Java Brown. To get the textured shimmer I added some  Walnut stain Distress Stickles. Love that affect – it looks like there is crushed glass over the alphas. I wiped the edge of the brush that I used for the Stickles over the star flower you can see – which gives you a better idea of what the Distress Stickles actually looks like.

The stamp is one of my Tim Holtz sets (Regal Flourish) which I have printed (using my colour printer) onto a transparency sheet. No idea (as usual) on the dress form – possibly Twiddleybitz or maybe Dusty Attic. The pearls and rose are some oddments I got as a gift with a purchase at some point – they were sitting on my desk, so they got used. The leaves are definitely Scrapware though – their very useful large Foliage chipboard ones. The alphas of course are theirs too – Antique lower case mini – I think I have bought out all Tracy’s stock (again) at the moment, but she promises there are more coming soon.

More of Tracy’s Stemmed Star flowers. These were white, but they got a smear of Versacolor and then a spray of Iridescent Gold Glimmermist. I know they do still seem to come up white in the photos – but they aren’t in real life. I smooshed up some tulle (the Hot Chocolate again) to make a flowery thing – and over that put one of Tracy’s new pink resin Cameo pieces. These are just gorgeous. I used a bronze frame to place it in (Tracy has some lovely silver ones that are similar and would work too) which set it off nicely. There is also a Chocolate Resin Cabochon Flower. These are so yummy – I am so glad Tracy let me nag her into getting them – they look so cool. The white ones can be coloured with inks as well – so they are very versatile.

This is my favourite part of the Antique Lace patterned paper – this gorgeous little fan. Just too cute!! I cut it out and then punched an eyelet through the bottom to make it look a little more like the real thing. Through the eyelet I threaded some of Tracy’s Black Iron Chain to mimic the chain fan holders I have seen on some of my Nan’s old fans. A bit of lace along the top also helps to ‘pretty it up’ like the real thing.

The stamped flourish is from the same Tim Holtz set mentioned earlier. Just in front of it is one of Tracy’s gorgeous little Love pins. This is the cream one and it looks like she made it just for me to use on this layout.

I used one of the Bronze LOVE charms on my journalling tag, along with some Cream Organza ribbon and another star flower. I left some of the ribbon cream and coloured another bit with Hot Chocolate to add a little contrast. The stamps are more from the same Tim Holtz set and the key is just an oddment from my stash. I’ve taken to mostly printing out my tag journalling onto acetate and then gluing it down on the tag. It means that I can do whatever I want to the tag surface (some inks – chalk ink in particular – will not let you write on it easily) and still get my journalling on it.

Do check out the store and get some of this lovely range from Tracy for yourself. Not many stores (sadly) stock TPC Studio and when people find out who does, they tend to buy the ranges out quick – so get in before they do.

A couple of quick and easy cards made with Websters Pages Spring Market Collection 6X6 paper pad

                 Cards 1

                 As the background I cut squares of  3 different

                 Papers and used one of the  images from the Gardeners Seed paper.

                 Tied some baker’s brown twine and a couple of spoon charms  

                  around the image. For the  sentiment I used the Alpha sticker sheet

                   and some brown ric rac to make the frame.

               

   Card 2

                    

Using another paper from the range cut to size, I cut some lace

                   to make a circle place it in the centre and glued 3 of the

                   gardenia flowers, using the organza ribbon tie a bow at the    

                   corner with the post card charm and some bakers twine

                   brown and on the journalling spot attach some alpha

                   stickers.

TPC Studio Heartfelt Travel Layouts

It surprised me how popular these papers were as we sold out of some of the papers the day we uploaded them to the website ...

I love the red and blues and as you will see they don't have to be travel layouts

Using the Scrapware large alphas as a mask then sprayed Starfish Glimmer Mist and added Carolees Creations Ruby Red Alpha stickers on to foam mounting tape for the "footy" wording

Using our footy boot charms tied with red and white bakers twine tied onto one of Jenni Bowlin Sports Bingo Cards

DS knew the rules ... play footy and you are responsible for washing the team shirts on our allocated day!
Heck I am the taxi driver, cheerleader, poore mum from the canteen food and much much more ... the least he can do is wash the shirts!

For the red paint marks on the background I just ripped a piece of pizza box, took off the top layer and added paint then randomly applied over the layout

For the title they are AC Thickers Darling White and instead of leaving them as it, I stamped with blue ink and my script stamp, importantly waited for the ink to dry then covered with Distress Crackle Clear Rock Candy

and now a dash of Prima

using the gorgeous (back side) of Madeline Rosalee pattern paper

the tags tucked in beside the brown cardstock and for the date are from Sweet Fairy Notes

The flower is from the Blue Butterfly and Flower mix and I just added some gold stamens in the centre

and the chipboard is Scrapware Do-Hicky Flourish #5

after inking I randomly added some walnut stain embossing powder

 

For the title I did the same the Wash Day title in previous layout.

I inked the Scrapware Impact Alphas with Jumbo Java, then with white ink stamped script writing on it.  

When the ink was dry I applied Dimensional Magic.  While the DM was still wet sprinkled some  diamond dust over the letters
