Cards and layouts from the newest members of our DT

Shabby Cards by Lindy

Here’s a collection of shabby cards that can be used for any occasion…

All the cards have been made without any Pattern paper

If you would like to see the technique I used just read on..

I took two sheets of cardstock natural colour and cut four cards.

Card 1.

Sew around the card, spray some glimmer mist on an old dress pattern or tissue, piece of black lace and brown ric rac. Cut some die cut out of scraps of cardstock one larger than the other.

Tie a bow on
a piece of organza ribbon. Attach the sprig of flowers and tie some camera charm and a half penny charm with some Baker’s twine.

Card 2.

I embossed with the cuttlebug and a scrap of green card and ink with Ranger distress ink Tea dye,

cut a strip of blue felt ribbon and embossed with clear embossing, punched a couple of circles and stamped a flower with Autumn leaves flower stamp on the edge of a circle,

using some scraps stamp and cut out the bird from the Prima stamps,

using another piece of scrap stamp a sentiment and ink with Ranger distress ink Tea Dye,

added some bling at the top of the circles and finally thread the organza brown ribbon through a butterfly charm

Card 3.

Using 2 different coloured cardstock mat one on top of the other and distress the edges.

Cut 3 different ricrac’s ribbon bright pink pale pink and yellow and another piece of natural and blue colour scraps.

Stamp the edge with Autumn Leaves stamp on the natural and the flower stamp on the blue scrap.

Hand write the sentiment on some scraps, place some small flowers I used white and ink them placed on the side with Ranger Liquid Pearls raspberry gold and plantium in the centres. place some thread in 3 buttons and place at the top.

Card 4.

Ink a piece of white card with the prima stamp

cut 4 flag in blue cardstock cut a strip of Bakers Twine brown and white, charms Little girl love key

and Musical Note, felt ribbon on the edge then Buzz and Bloom frills ,

punch a brown circle distress the edge and using the Scrapware Butterfly paint the clear picket fence crackle paint, for the sentiment use the Carolee’s creation alphas

And from Geli ...

Not using any patterned paper was a challenge for me, but the felt stands out so much better on a plain paper.

First, I used some glimmer mist for a bit of shine on the cardstock and stitched around the edge twice with my sewing machine, adding a few rhinestones wherever the stitches cross.

I framed the photo with the cute white scalloped felt frame and glued on strips of the white and silver rhinestone chain and a pink rhinestone heart.

I love the contrast of felt and rhinestones.

I had half a paper doily left from another project, so that went under the frame and then I glued down the pink and white stemmed star flowers.

The cute felt heart with a charm and an organza ribbon bow hides any glue bits and the gorgeous little camera charm inspired the title.

Thanks Geli and Lindy

We hope they have inspired you to create something today
