Friends layout with Kaisercraft Silver Bells

It is no surprise that I am in LOVE the new Kaisercraft Silver Bells - pink and silver Christmas papers are my absolute fav!

However, the reverse side of Good Tidings is also a favourite - soft tones of blue, grey and white in a woodgrain pattern. So thinking outside the square and working on photos of my daughter with her friend.

Add modelling paste, trellis die cuts (thanks Shelley for use of her die!) then sprinkle Frozen Blueberry Sugar Beads randomly over the paste.

Mount your photo with cardstock, then corrugated card - saves on your foam tape BUT make sure you have the cardstock between your photo and card, as it isn't acid free.

Mist your gesso and texture paste.
Then embellish with our blue stemmed flowers (I added a little glimmer mist in the centres to match the misting), small metal flowers, friends charm, silver key charm and jump ring

black gardenia (swiped with gesso and sky blue ink), black rose buds and butterflies from our Classic Tones Flutterbies.

More Kaisercraft Time Machine

So, we are all back from the fabulous my2angels Retreat! What a fabulous weekend it was - a wonderful time had by all thanks to the organisational skills of Tracy, Shelley and all their helpers.

Kaiser's Time Machine is in store now, and here is my second layout using this awesome collection. This one is a photo of the sunrise from the rooftop terrace of the Villa in Italy we visited for my DD's wedding last year. I must confess here that I am NEVER up at sunrise. This was just because of the jet lag - LOL!

Kaisercraft Scrapbooking Layouts

The base for this layout is a piece of grey/green cardstock and half a sheet of the reverse of ''Coggler''. The patterned edge strip was left on to give the impression of another layer. The torn strips of Kaisercraft Filmstrip Printed Tape along the edge have the same effect.

I've used my favourite stencil of the moment - a Tim Holtz Brocade (the Kaiser 12x12 Damask template here is very similar) - and texture paste to randomly add interest across the background and sprayed a little Aquamarine Glimmermist to give some deeper colour. There's also a piece of Cream Cotton Lace tucked underneath the paper's lower edge.

Underneath my photos are several small pieces of patterned paper from the range. From the bottom up, I have die cut some ''Ironclad'', cut tag shapes from both sides of ''Gadget'', mounted the photo on ''Scriptorian'' and die cut two Pediment shapes from ''Hourglass'' and ''Gadget'' again.
I also die cut a bookplate from ''Gadget'' and stamped it with StazOn Timber Brown ink and a script stamp. The brads are brown metal.
The string on one of the tags, and wrapped around the photo is Seaweed Bakers Twine.

Decorating the lower right corner I have a butterfly from the Totally Turquoise Flutterbies and an Antique Bronze Square Filigree. This one has a centre circle which I have filled with a small piece of emerald green ''Hourglass'' and a 12cm Transparent Glass Cabochon. It looks so pretty - like a green jewel.

My title ''everyday moments'', my journalling strips and all of the sprays of leaves are die cut from both sides of ''Steam Engine''.

After this layout, and the previous one, I still had plenty of papers left - and some gorgeous pieces from the 12x12 Sticker sheet too - so I thought I would try out the Kaisercraft flip card dies I got at the Retreat - Circle and Snowflake. For both cards I used Inkssentials Specialty Stamping Paper cut to 8''x 6''.

The Circle flip card die was the base for my fist card. On the front I used ''Iron Clad'' and ''Coggler'' with a lacey strip from the 12x12 Sticker sheet between them. There is a ''Coggler'' circle underneath the cute bird. The clock on the front is a sticker, but I mounted it on dimensional squares. Happy Birthday is stamped with StazOn Timber Brown

On the inside, the base is a piece of ''Hour''. A second circle die cut from the reverse of ''Ironclad'' gives you a place to write your sentiment, with another clock sticker overlapping it a little. The edge of pale green cogs is also a sticker.

Next, I used the Snowflake flip card die to make a Christmas card. The photos don't really show it, but the trees, the pine needles and the snowflake itself are all glittery and pretty. There is white sparkly glitter all over my floor, my clothes, my hair and my cat.

The papers I used here are ''Gears'' (the only paper with a white rather than cream base) and ''Hourglass''. The white accents are all die cut from Inkssentials Specialty Stamping paper and covered with glitter. The central pearl is white and the ''Merry Christmas'' chipboard is embossed with black embossing powder.

Inside the paper is ''Ironclad'' again - the front for the brown brocade pattern and the reverse for the die cut writing spot. A few more glittery trees finished it off.

I'm sure you'll enjoy Time Machine as much as I did. Hurry and get yours while it stock lasts.
I think it might be time for some tags. I'm inspired by the ones everyone made at the retreat.....or maybe I should finish my canvas....or my Sleigh....or....

Kaisercraft Time Machine Cards

Hi All - after a loooong break I am back to scrapping.  It was either that or Tracy was going to hot-glue me to my scrapping desk until I produced something. :)

The chance to work with the new Kaiser range - Time Machine - was a big incentive though. Gorgeous shades of chocolate brown and cream matched with various shades of green and the odd bit of black and white.  Lots of clock and steampunk-ish motifs and some very lovely damask style patterns.  Absolutely suits masculine layouts - but you could get some dramatic feminine ones as well.

I got to work with the 6.5" Paper Pad (which is already out of stock BUT email Tracy as I know several people missed out and want her to order more in), so a few cards were the perfect start to my return to scrapping.  I can't wait to get my hands on the 12" papers though - I really want to try a layout or two with them.

Card #1 uses what has to be my favourite paper in the range. Creamy shades with a chocolate edge- a lovely grid pattern and cog-bits around the corners. After inking the edges with Wendy Vecchi Desinger Series Archival Ink Potting Soil, I've matted it on the darkest paper in the range and then matted that again on a Kaiser 13x13 square cream card.

A little stamping with Pine Cone with the lovely Kaiser Botanical stamp and a die cut cog (using a Kaiser die) or two gives me a nice foundation for the card. The smaller brown cog has been inked and the larger green one has been sprayed Aquamarine Glimmermist and inked.

The two small die cut pieces are from the 6.5" Paper Pad. Throw in a bronze cog from the Gadget Gears Cog Charms pack, a neat little Bronze Arrow Charm and my favourite Antique Bronze Clock Charm and you are almost done.

I added a bit of inked mesh here and there - sprinkled over some Golden Crunch Sugar Beads  and topped the whole card off with 2 pieces from the stunning Steampunk Wings and Things kit - my favourite ever my2angels embellishment.

Kaisercraft Scrapbooking Cards

For Card #2 I used Kaisercraft Coffee Bean cardstock as the base and cut it with the new Kaiser Circle Card Flip Die  (available from Shelley's Land on facebook). My second favourite paper design from the range - a lovely dark aquamarine colour with chocolate/black contrasts is matted onto the card.

Again - I have combined die cut pieces from the 6.5" Paper Pad, with bronze cogs from the Gadget Gears Cog Charms pack, the Bronze Arrow Charm and my favourite Antique Bronze Clock Charm.  I then cut out one of the clocks printed on a collage patterned paper and popped it under a cabochon. Voila - all done - too easy.

Kaisercraft Scrapbooking Cards

On a roll now - I used a bit of scrap dark brown cardstock from my stash to make another Kaiser Flip card (the Lattice Flip this time) and matted it with a stunning, dark turquoise damask patterned paper. To contrast - I used a cream, shades of green, and chocolate clock patterned paper, both from the 6.5" Paper Pad.

Kaisercraft Scrapbooking Cards

More die cut pieces for my card sentiments - but this time I used the Antique Bronze Clocks with Curly Numbers Charm, another Bronze Arrow Charm and some sweet chocolate two-toned roses

Kaisercraft Scrapbooking Cards

As you can see the range is very versatile - suited to both masculine and feminine card styles. Time Machine is easy to work with and Tracy has a great range of embellishments, flowers and charms that will work well with it.
