On the search for a new trimmer

Whilst I love or am just use to my stanley knife and metal ruler for cutting I thought I might go on a search for a trimmer. Now I know the world is getting advanced and the technology is mind blogging, I mean I am still trying to get my head around fax machines. My sister lives in Scotland and I can draw a picture and in two minutes she will have that picture on her fax machine. Truly how does that happen?
