More amazing creations from the DT and some NEW LACE

Here are the latest amazing creations from the DT ...

Love You Always by Corrina

This is my eldest daughter. She's a curious mix of feminine and attitude, gentle yet determined, quiet yet popular. And of course we love her dearly.

I handcut the title out of Rusty Pickle Popstars Miley paper. The frill border and the hearts were also cut from this paper, then I used the reverse heart side as a black mat (the large dotty heart is from the middle of the paper, and the hole is hidden under the photo and mat). The hand cut page elements were highlighted with red marker pen and dimensional magic.

I did some black and white doodling around the edge of the red coredinations cardstock to keep in with the hand drawn theme of the Rusty Pickle paper. I tied lots of little ribbon pieces in the centre of the black flower ribbon slide and finished off the fabric feel on this with gorgeous Buzz and Bloom black cord clouds.

Materials Used:
products used: dimensional magic, black and white gel pens, red marker pen, fiskars apron lace border punch.

A card from Tracey ...

I layered some of the pretty Imaginisce paper onto 2 layers of cardstock with foam tape. The word Happy was first painted with Distress Crackle Paint and then embossed with the Zing Embossing Powder. The organza ribbon was perfect to tie a the Butterfly charm to the front of the card. I finished off with some Kindy Glitz to highlight parts of the patterned paper.

And from Wendy ...

Did I say how much I am loving this months theme!??! Think I did!!! LOL! Here is my 2nd LO, it is of my ‘ELEVEN’ year old using a paper I actually picked for the other side but I so loved this side with the clocks I just had to use it!

Starting off with a piece of Core-dinations Black cardstock and the gorgeous Collage Press Scrooge Marley The Counting House paper, I cut off a strip of the paper (used it for my last LO) and then cut out the clocks. I’ve used scarlett core dinations cardstock and some red ribbon to edge the paper.

The gorgeous Scrapware Penny Farthing Bicycle, I sprayed with Raven Glimmer Mist (but coloured the seat red) and then finished it off using Inkssentials Crackle Accent and some Black Pearls.

I’ve then 3D taped the clocks on the LO but leaving a ‘shadow’ gap. I’ve used some Black and Red Mulberry flowers and Black Plaid Brads and partially hidden them behind the clocks together with a Love Key Charm and Follow your Heart charm.

My title is a combination of Thickers Black Daiquiri alphas and the Jenni Bowlin Tiny Circle Alphas which I really love! (Tracy please get more in stock LOL!) The little clock face is something I picked up at a craft fair last year, cute eh?!

Don't worry Wendy the Tiny Circle Alphas will be back in stock by Thursday :)

FREE Step by Step Layout by Taryn with Teresa Collins

Taryn has very kindly shared her first (hope she does more hint hint LOL) step by step layout for you to have a try at.

I know some people struggle with TC papers (thanks for the emails LOL) so Taryn will show you how easy it is to use her papers while incorporating a few different techniques

Without further ado ...

Tracy has the most beautiful Teresa Collins papers in store at my2angels, and I have used them to create this layout of one of my favourite photos of my daughter holding her baby brother.

The photo was taken years ago, and this is the first time I have scrapped it (guess I was waiting for the perfect papers?).

So... if you want to learn how to create this layout, read on for step-by-step instructions.

This one is easy!!

So your materials list...
1 black cardstock
1 Teresa Collins Chic Bebe Boy Growing
1 Teresa Collins Chic Bebe Boy Calendar
1 Teresa Collins Chic Bebe Boy Long Tags
1 Teresa Collins Chic Bebe Boy Notes Paper
1 Scrapware Chandelier
1 Large Crown Charm
1 Black Flower
1 Crystal Brad
1m black and white spotted ribbon
1m pale blue organza ribbon
American Craft Thickers
Black ink
Distress stickles, or other black glitter
1 5x7" photo, in black and white, portrait.

Step 1 Prepare your chipboard
I have painted the chandelier in black, and then added black distress stickles over the top, then set aside to dry. You could use any kind of black glitter.

Step 2: Trim your papers
Trim the Growing paper to 10 x 10.5", and the Calendar paper (circles on the reverse side) to 8 x 8.5".
Also cut a journaling tag of your choice from the Notes paper, using your scissors or craft knife. For your handmade flower, trim 1.5" off the Long Tags paper (you will be using the spotty paper on the reverse).
You will also need to trim one strip of the black and white patterned trim that you see at the bottom label of each sheet of paper.

Step 3: Enhance your papers
Use a corner rounder on each corner of the large pieces of paper (you can use a circle template, then hand cut if you don't have a rounder), and use a scallop punch or similar along the edge of the 1.5" strip of spotty paper.
Use your black ink, and a dauber to ink the edges of all your pieces of paper, including the scalloped strip and the journaling tag.

Step 4: Add glitter
Use your glitter/distress stickles to highlight the edges of the 2 larger pieces of paper.
To create the little paper ribbon I have used along the bottom of the photo, take the small strip of black & white patterned paper, and apply stickles or similar along the edges.
While it is still wet, use your fingers to gently mold the strip so it has some ripples, then set aside to dry.

Step 5: Arrange your papers
Arrange your larger pieces of paper on the page, and stick them down. Use the photo of my layout as a guide.
I have all my elements centred top-bottom, and then aligned a little to the left.
Then add your photo.

Step 6: Add the ribbon
To add the ribbon, cut your 1m length of ribbon in half, then trim the ends. Apply a strip of double-sided tape along the right hand side of your page, overlapping each piece of paper. Gently gather the ribbon, a little at a time as you adhere it down the page.
Use your judgement as to how much to gather so you have enough ribbon to make it all the way down the page.
Repeat this process with the 2nd strip of ribbon, right up alongside the first.

Step 7: Create your handmade flower.
Take your strip of spotted paper, and use the scalloped edge to make concertina folds all the way along.
Take the two ends, and stick them together, then gently press your flower down flat, into place.
Use two pieces of scrap paper, with some quick-dry glue, to stick the centre of the flower, top and bottom to hold it in place.
You made need to hold it all together for a while until the glue holds.
Decorate the edges of the flower with glitter, if desired, and top with a black flower and brad.

Step 8: Finishing touches

Add all your embellishments to the page, the chandelier in the top left of the page, the flower in the top right corner, the journaling tag to the bottom left of the photo.
Use a piece of organza ribbon to attach the large crown charm to the little paper ribbon, and attach the strip across the bottom of the photo.
Don't forget to add your own heartfelt journaling and title!

And there you have it, I told you it would be easy.
I hope you enjoy adding a few simple extra special touches to your next layout.

See told ya it was easy but so effective! I love the ribbon idea Taryn!

Well I survived and the kids are safely back at school today WOO HOO lol

Black and White with a dash of Green layouts

Black White and Green is the flavour of the day with the DT

From the very happy Wendy LOL ...

Oh how I LOVE black & white with a touch of colour!!! So this month’s theme is SO up my alley... thank you Tracy!! So here is my first LO using some gorgeous papers and goodies from the store.

I started with Black Core-dinations cardstock, which I doodle ‘stitched’ around the edges with a white gel pen. I used several pieces of patterned paper, Collage Press Scrooge and Imaginisce To Love Cherish Katherine together with some Olive cardstock to match the green in my photo. I pieced the papers together and machine stitched around the edges.

I’ve used a Jenni Bowlin Bingo Card for the word ADORE and for the rest of the title I’ve used some Thickers Daiquiri Foam Stickers, Jenni Bowlin Tiny Circle and Carolee’s Creations Tiny Etched Alpha Stickers. I mounted my photo onto chipboard and then mounted onto 3D tape to make it really stand off the page.

Others products used are a gorgeous Buzz & Bloom Mirror Love & Kisses, a my2angels Silver-Self-Adhesive-Rhinestones-Circles and a star from the Black-Stars-and-Scroll-Felt-Ribbon (on special this month) and some Black Organza Ribbon tied through a textured black button.

And from Corrina ...

Such a Cheeky Boy..

Here is my gorgeous, loving little son poking his tongue out at his sisters while I am trying to set a decent shot at Point Heathcote. I did get some really great shots of him with the last of the sun's rays providing light and shade...but I really loved this cheeky little snap so I scrapped this one.

The T-shirt in the photo is such a vibrant green so I used Cosmo Cricket Hello Sunshine: Clover to follow the colour through. I cut elements out of Rusty Pickle Popstar papers (Zac, Dylan) to give the page a boyish and playful feel.

A quick word about these Rusty Pickle papers.. they can look a little overwhelming as a whole piece but the Zac paper is perfect for handcut edgings, and has some very useful words for titles on the back.

The Star element and arrow were cut out, stuck onto some thick card and cut out again to give them the extra stiffness to be stuck down with foam tape. I coloured the centre of the star with one of my children's marker pens (or you could use gel pens or proper scrapping markers), and I did the same with the circle and 2 x star element.

The title was die cut out of Popstars Dylan using Quickutz Yogurt font, BUT if you really like this font, there is a free font available for downloading called MANDINGO that you can use. Once you have downloaded that, simply use the font in Word Art (the outline one) in a Word document. Size it to whatever size you like , then click on spacing and make it very loosely spaced. Now in the arrange section there is a rotate symbol, go in there and flip horizontal and your letters will be backwards. Do a test print on plain paper to see if is the size you want etc, then you print it to the reverse side of your patterned paper (by flipping the word art, your letters will print backwards onto your paper and you can use the printed outline as a guideline to cut on) and cut it out.

Materials used:
Title: die cut title, Carolees Creations tiny stickers - tiny black, tiny worn retro

I am just loving this months theme and what the DTs are coming up with - who would have thought Rusty Pickle could look so funky or what about using that Adore Bingo Card behind the photo!

and how about this for exciting news ...

Our very own gorgeous Taryn and joined by Kim (previous Guest DT) are both now officially Scrapware Design Team members - woo hoo congrats girls

AND there's more
our talented Corrina has had a card accepted for publication

could there be more?
Sure is!
a layout from our wonderful Wendy to be seen in an upcoming magazine issue

I am doing the happy dance for you all (without doing too much damage to myself LOL)

Congratulations to you all
It's fantastic news

Baby Book with Teresa Collins

Today Taryn shares with us this gorgeous baby book she has made ...

I have finally completed Hayden's baby book. I couldn't resist when I saw the Teresa Collins Chic Bebe Boy range, and I used it to convert an old children's board book into this baby book.

This paper is so easy to work with, the mini tags and the notes papers are like ready made embellishments, all you need to do is cut them out, and stick them on.

The large crown charm looks fantastic on the front cover. I have also used black and white spotty ribbon, black rhinestuds, black flower, crystal brad, and organza ribbon on the cover page.

For page 2 I have added black lace, love key charm, and scrapware brackets.
For the brackets, I have painted them black, then sprinkled them with diamond dust, and then finished off with dimensional magic.

For page 3 I have added scrapware flourishes, black thickers, with some extra black star flowers.

For page 4, I have used two of the tags from the mini tags paper, with some black picot ribbon and more flowers.

And the final page, I added some rhinestone flower centres, with more scrapware flourishes.

I love the idea of using an old board book Taryn, its so beautifully recorded and I totally agree with how easy the journaling tags and notes papers are to add to your creations.

Thanks so much for sharing this special book with us
and thanks to everyone for looking

Hope you all have a safe and creative weekend
