Clipboard Photo Frames

So my DD brought me a mini clipboard a few months back, I had a thought that it would look cool as a photo frame, and even better when a friend brought me another one so I have the start of a clipboard photo gallery on my wall (and also gave me a reason to get out the Claudine Hellmuth Multi-Medium, not that I need an excuse LOVE the stuff!)

So here is Photo Frame Clipboard No 1 

with Prima Engraver Roulette glued to the base

and added our black scroll felt frame (cut up for 2 corners)

yellow flowers

Silver Love Key Charm
yellow 1cm roses

scrap chipboard letters to spell love

I love you postcard charm

made with love heart charm 
antique bronze love charm

then a good coat of Claudine Hellmuth Multi-Medium

and when dried sprayed with Tarnished Silver Glimmer Mist and Yellow Glimmer Mist (found the yellow in a mini mister and clever me didn't label it!)

and our new I Love you to Infinity Yellow Chain (wiped with some Black Soot Distress Paint)

Yellow Stickles on the Large Filigree Butterfly which was first painted with Mustard Seed Distress Paint and once dry centred with a Silver Love Key Charm 

As this is a gold and yellow themed frame I lastly, wiped randomly with Inka Gold, over areas, and paying more attention to the silver charms
(Inka Gold is a great product to colour charms and dries within minutes!)

started off like this with

Music paper glued to the base,
gold flower rhinestone trim, 

cream tulle

black felt scroll frame, 

black and white stemmed flowers, 

selection of brown flowers and a white magnolia sprayed with Tarnished Silver Glimmer Mist that I found on my desk, 

Twiddleybitz flower flourish which has been chopped up

snuck in behind the top left hand corner of the frame is one of our silver rhinestone heart

 then a coat of Claudine Hellmuth Multi-Medium

and a spray of Gold Glimmer Mist, Tarnished Silver Glimmer Mist and Inka Gold
a few splats of Tarnished Brass Distress Stain for good measure
then added a Twiddleybitz fancy flourish and
one of our shabby love embellishments to the top


and I ended up with this

Wish you could see on the photo the awesome effect that the Inka Gold gives!

Tucked in underneath is a flat circle filigree, Antique Bronze Birdcage and a Twiddleybitz Chipboard Vintage Inscribed Key

I love them!

and wouldn't they be a great unique gift idea?

Yellow, Black and Gold OTP Tin

Remember the blue coffee tin I decorated a few weeks back, well here is another one that I intend to display our yellow rose buds in for instore.

First I started off by painting it fully with Mustard Seed Distress Paint and stamping it using Archival Jet Black Ink with my Kaisercraft Script stamp.
 (Love how smooth & creamy these distress paints feel!)

Around the base is our black lace and black flower rhinestone chain. 

It is adhered with my hot glue gun.

Next came the fun part of embellishing it.  Starting off with our black feathers in the background

then black and white stemmed flower, gold pearl spray, antique bronze leaf charms, yellow rose buds and yellow roses

 
And tucked in behind are our Black mulberry flowers

Now our large flower filigree got a coat of Mustard Seed Distress paint too, which adhered very nicely!



Topped with a black gardenia then a small yellow rose

Lastly, I gave it a quick spray with Iridescent Gold Glimmer Mist

I am pretty happy with this bright cheerful tin, can't wait to start on my next one.

It's Yellow and Gold Week

Yellow is a colour that you don't see scrapped often. I don't know why, since it's such a cheerful colour.  During these cold, dull months of winter, isn't it nice to scrap and play with a bright, happy colour like yellow?

So this week we will be sharing all things Yellow - and what is another tone of yellow?  GOLD

Of course what is on my desk at the moment has nothing to do with this sudden thought to promote yellow - I have no idea what gave me the inspiration to scrap yellow. ROFL (Hmmm - Ngaire is wondering if RED will be the colour for next week???)

Yellow Date and Clip Embellishment Set

So pop over to the YELLOW section and watch for a yellow infusion of creations on our blog this week.

Let's start the week off with a birthday card.

Start off with a Twiddleybitz C6 white card and apply some Mustard Seed Distress Paint towards the top and in the middle.  Spray with water and tilt your card down so it dribbles to the bottom.  

Once dry, give it some black splats by using your Black Soot Distress Stain and banging it down onto the card.  Run your Distress Stain along the edges of your card as well.

Leave to dry.

While your card is drying, grab a Twiddleybitz Chipboard Lightbulb and paint with Black Soot Distress Paint.  

Once dry, (which takes around the time it takes to make yourself a coffee), use your finger to wipe some Inka Gold over your chipboard.

Add the lightbulb to the centre of your card and then apply rock candy crackle paint over it.

Now add some yellow rose buds and yellow roses.

Grab some yellow scrap cardstock and cut some very thin strips.

Add the strips amongst your cluster of roses.  (Keep one strip for next step.)

 

Using the same scrap cardstock, cut yourself a banner from the Tattered Banner die and stamp with your sentiment.

And finally, to finish off, add a charm (of course).  Tie a small piece of Buttercream Yellow Baker's Twine and your extra thin strip in the loop of a silver clock charm.

Ta da one Birthday Card.

No reason why you can't use the lightbulb as an embellishment for a layout either!

Twiddleybitz Printer Tray as a note board

Here is my 2nd project using Twiddleybitz Printer Trays

As mentioned in the previous post on Friday, you get 3 trays and a base board.
The 3 trays are designed to allow for dimension when creating your OTP.

For my note board, I have used the solid chipboard base and 1 printer tray.

The base I covered with the gorgeous Prima Romance Novel pattern papers & added a few "post it note" pads.

Plus a special photo with our Brown Laughter Charming Word

The printer tray was inked with Versa Color Pinecone (love this ink!)

I have used 3 vial bottles on this tray,
one spilling out Creamy Latte Sugar Beads, pink roses and a collection of Antique Bronze Love Charms

The other vial bottle has our pen pot charm tied with brown thread plus a Twiddleybitz Flourish Corner which I have embossed with Stampendous Aged Embossing Enamel Black Powder

PLUS the vial bottle is the perfect size and HOLD A PEN!  so you anyways have one on hand

 

This vial bottle, is a "flower vase" with pink roses, pink rose buds, green mulberry leaves with brown tips, strung peacock flue feathers, pink sherbet baker's twine with a pink resin flower.  The "water" in the "vase" is glue from my hot glue gun :) 

Our Antique Bronze Scissor Charm, pink rose and a Idea-Ology Pen Nib (the one I used has "notes"engraved on it - there are various engraved words on the nibs in the 12 nib pack)

Now I have a "pretty" functioning memo board for my desk

 (and even better when I put the pen BACK!)

Multi Media Canvas with Inka Gold

Hello Everyone!

I've been playing with canvas' again, getting all inky - happy days!!

This is a 5x7 canvas board not frame so it's solid and flat.  I sprayed it with different coloured purple sprays, and then put Helmar Tacky Glue all over, hitting it with the heat gun to get the drying process underway.

I then applied Claudine Hellmuth Gloss Multi-Medium and adhered the chipboard, sprinkling the Purple Passion Sugar Beads in as well...

After heating again with the heat gun to dry it - and leaving it overnight to dry (it was excruciatingly painful leaving it overnight as I was impatient to finish!), I rubbed with Silver Inka Gold on the chipboard, and Violet Inka Gold on the canvas and sugar beads area...

I coloured the word "LOVE", and the silver key charm and silver arrow charms I used for the hands of the clock in the Violet Inka Gold before adhering and sealing with more gloss medium. I also used silver Inka Gold on the purple flower before sealing...

I also added the 'treasure' word from the Tim Holtz ChitChat pack - coloured with Dusty Concord Distress Ink, using glossy accents.

I added the Mauve Love Charming Word using hot glue as the adhesive as the base was uneven due to the sugar beads.

All items available from my2angels; with the exception of the canvas and the sprays - although Glimmer Mists would be just as effective as the coloursprays I used.

Twiddleybitz Printer Tray ... thinking outside the "square"

In your pack of Twiddleybitz Printer Trays, you get 3 trays and a base board.  The 3 trays are designed to allow for dimension when creating your OTP - BUT - thinking outside the square, I have managed to use my single pack to create 1 OTP and 1 layout, with one left over for another day. How's that for making the most of your supplies?

Here is the first of my projects, a layout using the Kaisercraft Miss Empire Die Cut Brass.

I left 1 layer of the printer tray bare (leave all the rest of the kit for later), just stamping it lightly and randomly using Pinecone Ink and a Kaisercraft Script stamp. 

Next I cut out the inner section of the die cut.  I then attached the centre piece of the die cut to some scrap cardboard for a sturdy backing, as I need the base that comes with the Printers Tray for my OTP.  Using my hot glue gun I attached the tray to the outer die cut.

I then inked a Twiddleybitz Flowers in Flourish with Pinecone and Weathered Wood Distress Ink.

Into the middle of the flower I sprinkled Turquoise Microbeads, adhering them with Dimensional Magic.  I then created an embellishment cluster using an  Antique Bronze Leaf Charm, Brown Magnolia and Brown gardenia and to finish up - a Brown Together Charming Word (minus the bead and flower, I just had it lying around on my table unfinished!).

Up in the top corner I used a Precious Banner from the Rustic Brown Banner Charming Buttons collection, a brown gardenia, and a bit I cut from the Twiddleybitz Flowers in Flourish, an Antique Bronze Leaf Charm and a resin flower.

I popped a piece of muslin with Turquoise Microbeads, a brown rose and an antique bronze heart locket charm into a small square section of the Printer Tray to complete my page.

I'll be back on the weekend with my OTP using the printer tray as a decorative memo board (the sun went down too quickly for me to get decent photos).

Kaisercraft Base Coat

The Kaisercraft Base Coat Collection is just so awesome!!

If you live in or around Sydney you might have noticed that there has been a bit of bad weather happening just lately...LOL! So what's better to do when it is cold and pouring with rain than sitting down and doing some messy, grungy scrapping.

There are heaps of new and exciting products in the store at my2angels, so I decided to experiment with a few of them....

I started with a sheet of ''Cracked'' - the plainer reverse side of the paper, and added a few things to it.....

First I painted on some clear crackle medium - I wanted to see what it would look like to have smaller crackles over the top of the crackle pattern on the paper. It looked good, but because I didn't paint it all over the paper wrinkled up a lot and in the damp weather it took about three days to dry!! So I flattened it under some very heavy books for a couple more days and then I added some colour. 

Using an Inkssentials Ink Blending Tool I rubbed some Antique Linen Distress Ink into and around the page, concentrating on the crackled areas and sprayed with some beautiful Suede Glimmermist. I let the mist drip down the page a little to add to the grungy look.

After another drying and flattening day I decided that I was wasting my time and the paper would never be flat again, so I trimmed it down a bit, distressed the edges and sewed it to a sheet of the striped reverse of ''Woven'' and embraced the imperfections. That worked well :)

Next I added some strips of ''Timber'' - cut out individually as single palings, distressed and inked - to go underneath my photo, and scattered some plasterer's mesh and washi tape around the page. 

Using a Twiddleybitz Bricks Template and some Ferro Metal Effect Texture Paint I added some Graphite and Copper bricks to add colour and texture. It was really easy to create the brick effect with these paints...great colour and fantastic texture that was very easy to apply with the template. I think I will be ordering some more colours very soon!

My embellishments are also a mix of differently treated bits and pieces. There are some chipboard cogs, inked with Vintage Photo Distress Ink and treated with Twiddleybitz rusting powder, some wooden cogs inked just on the edges and some metal cogs and a clock key from Tim Holtz.

I have coloured the bases of  various sized Glass Cabochons with my Vintage Photo Distress Marker and scattered them around. A my2angels Grunge Charming Date bottle cap, a Hammer charm and a Spanner/Wrench charm also got the rusting treatment and are added to the page.

The title, ""I can Fix it'' is made from small word stickers - from Tim Holtz' Ideaology Chit Chat Stickers - and Prima Alphabet Stickers.

Finally I added a few more squirts and splatters of Suede Glimmermist, and some pretty but grungy Stampendous Mica Flakes in Tarnished and Tea Stained

The wood, brick and metal papers in this collection are perfect papers for the boys, and the knits, lace and fabric papers are really versatile and make great backgrounds for all your scrapping or OTP projects.
