Birthday Sketch Competition
Hi, first up today is
Geli
I can never go past a die cut background paper and Websters does them so well! All the papers are from the delicious new Lets Celebrate range and the white embossed mat has been done with the Cuttlebug Happy Birthday Embossing Folder. I love using a little Twine to define the curved edges. Just glue it on, it works a treat.
Here's a flag from Youre Invited with a Frangipani Flower and half a Rhinestones Circle:
My absolute favourites are the sparkly Chipboard Balloons. Simply spread some Dimensional Magic all over them and cover in Glitter. Easy, right?
Since your carpet and possibly your pets are now well covered in glitter, why not give the mini Cupcake Charms the same make-over:
I made a little scallop border from folded-over Mulberry Flowers:
and a rosette from some left-over lace fabric with an Acrylic Flower for a center:
Yes, you guessed it, more twine. I just love that stuff.
Happy birthday to My2Angels and come on, have a go at the sketch!
Geli
And from Jess,
I have used: Sassafras Lass papers, Hambly transparency, Scrapware chipboard balloons which I painted with a Red Pepper Paint Dabber and added Light Blue Rhinestones too then "tied" together with some Teal & White Bakers Twine and a Ribbon Bow Charm, Scrapware ATC Frame, Rhinestone Stripes, White Scalloped Edge Felt Frame and Scrapware Correboard Alphas which I painted with Cowboy Glimmer Glaze.
Would SOOOOO love it if you guys gave the sketch a go!!!
Love and Peace xox
JESS and lastly, from me,
Tracy
With a layout using NO pattern paper, but creating a background on the Echo Park Red/Cream distress Cardstock by using my ink blending tool over the Tim Holtz Timeworks masks (which I have found are no longer available from the manufacturer)
The white photo mount is Scrapware White Correboard which I wipe black soot distress ink over it (it comes in a sheet of 12x12, saves your pizza boxes and gives a much better finish)
Tucked in behind I embossed some cardstock with the Happy Birthday Embossing Folder and again wiping black soot distress ink over it
The scrapware date set is inked again with black soot distress ink (just one coat) and I wrote the date with Inkssentials White Opague Pen
Whoops I lied, I did use a piece of pattern paper, to add some journalling!
It is a piece from Echo Park For the Record Borders

And every birthday layout needs a present charm which I tied with Charcoal bakers twine
We hope you will join us in the Birthday Sketch Challenge and upload your birthday layouts to our gallery for a chance to win a one months embellish me kit subscription
