Just a sneak look

As promised I have an example of using my new bling flourishes on a layout but I can only show you a snippet of it, sorry, as it is my examples for the Crowns and Tiaras Cyber Crop over at Top 50 next month.

That is our black bling buckle to the right and I have used our new leaf charms also.
I hope you can see on the flowers I have used 3d kindy glitz, giving a water droplet effect - gotta love that stuff.

Sorry short and sweet I'm in the middle of a OTP challenge for RSS that I wanna get finished and photographed before the rain comes AGAIN!

Bling Me Baby

I love it when I get a new delivery especially when it is something I designed myself. I did these quite a few months back, but due to various reasons I have not been able to get them produced until now.

So introducing our new rhinestone bling flourishes in silver and black . Measuring 5cm x 18cm with 3mm rhinestones at $2.00 each

I designed these to fit along side the edge of a standard 6x4 photo, however this is obviously only a suggestion of using these flourishes. The photos don't do them justice, so I am hoping to have a play with them tonight and will upload a layout in the next day or two with them on.

Whilst we have had the 4mm black rhinestone photo / page corners in stock for a while I have finally organised silver ones as well. (My design again - I am so not showing off!)

For only $1.60 you get 4 self adhesive photo corners. Each corner measures 2.3cm x 4cm

Plus yellow and deep purple loose rhinestones also arrived. You get way more than 100 in scoop for $1.40.

All these are in the Bling section on our website.

I have had a request to get in stock the word Angel in self adhesive rhinestones, is this of any interest to anyone else as well?

Must dash gotta take DS to footy practice!!!!

TFL and have a fab night

I was once a photographer ...

Yip I was once a photographer, even did a few weddings in my early days, won a few competitions, but that was all pre kids days! Now I am not so sure and it seems I have let my skills drift away ever so slightly.

Now DD is in the school soccer team and last week, on her birthday, we were hoping that she would finally score a goal (being the only girl in the team the boys tend to ignore her abit but hey she should be use to that having a 12 year old brother!). Her good friend in the team had words with the other boys and told them to pass to her as much as possible since it's her birthday and they did kick it to her a few times which was pretty good odds for 10 year old boys.

We were both pretty excited and so I am on the side line going up and down finger on the trigger button ready for that moment, turning camera off and on, too scared the battery might run out. Yelling out encouragement and trying to tone down my thoughts of "Are you fricken kidding why did you kick it over there - theres NO ONE THERE" (this appears to be a common occurence in the under 10s team!). We both just knew today would be the day she would get her first goal and with a near miss in the first 10 minutes, the anticipation for both of us was building. Half time came and went, still no goal but again the odds were good she was getting the ball alot. Now with only 5 minutes to go, we both felt the moment was drifting away and to try and not show my dissapointment for her I started chatting to the teacher and we kind of, you know how it is, forget everything around you and yak yak yak, then I remember where I was at and look up to see what was happening in the game ... and at that precise moment I see Sarah with her arms in the air ya hooing and the biggest grin.

What? did you OMG did you score I turn to the teacher did she score? (Like she flippen watching!!! Good one coach!) Quickly I aim with my camera and shot the moment ... oh yeah my baby has scored oh yeah her idiot mother has the camera turned off!!! Yip a photo of the goalie holding the ball GOOD ON YA MUM.

Here is a photo of the superstar ...

But I do have a photo of the near goal remember? And I did get a few good shots of her throughout the game I know I can't jusify the small fact that I missed HER FIRST GOAL!!! Hey but I got her a rip stick for her birthday she really really wanted one, even got the colour she hinted at BUT yeah I know a moment in her life, gone! Not captured can't scrapbook it, no photos to show the grandchildren! Puff GONE!

I seem to have a habit of missing some of the important moments, here is a photo of my son's FIRST EVER Rugby League Try

Okay there was a try just to the left and quite a bit further down! Yip his first try except in my excitment I threw my arms in the air carying on with the ya hooing AGAIN and then click. Yeah I know, not click then throw arms up in air ...

So quicky realising what I had done, I bring the camera down and click. No you idiot don't click half way bringing the camera down into position and get a photo of the bloody car park ... get your son in the damm photo thats why you have the camera!!!!

Hey but I do have over 4 hours on video of Mark when he was about to walk ... 4 hours of it cause he was a late starter and we always thought today he was going to walk today - oh I did get a photo of that moment though - she says with proud smile and thank god I didn't miss that moment.

Gone is the dream of being a photographer when I grow up ah? Maybe just still photography for me and not action shots ah?

Like this card I made for the Scraplounge CC this weekend, it didn't move so I was safe in getting it uploaded by tonights deadline. We had to create a card but not your usual square shape.

I might just quickly and quietly go now, before I think of more "blonde" moments to share.

Hey and don't forget BACK UP YOUR DOCUMENTS AND PHOTOS FROM YOUR HARD DRIVE - you don't want a Tracy moment - do you?

2 challenge layouts to share

Heritage was the Themed Challenge over at RSS this month so I have created this layout of my grandparent. We also had to use lace, an old book and inking.
A quick trip to Lifeline was the first start where I got a 50c Mills and Boom Book. Mum picked me up some lace from Spotlight last week, and she got some sizzex cut lace flowers in return - thanks mum:)

Pattern Paper is from kaiser

I did quite a bit of rip and tearing of the book (a few sentences needed to be scrunched up more than others, not quite appropriate for the layout LOL) and some Creme de Chocolat glimmer mist to finish them off. Also use the glimmer mist on the lace flowers.
The flowers with the red edging is actually our red and white mulberry flowers but a quick spray with the glimmer mist (again!) soon changed the colour to what I needed.

Mum also got me Tulle which I used as the wrapping paper on the bouquet of flowers and tied with our red and brown organza ribbon. Hmm what else, oh charms of course, the little heart and key charms which are silver didn't got so well with the colour scheme so they got a dose of Staz On Timber Brown Ink. The chipboard photo corner from buzz and bloom I ran through the cuttlebug with the handwritten embossing folder, then inked.

Up in the right hand corner is our together tag charms

There is also some brown ric rac ribbon and I used one of our brown felt hearts. The quote on the tag says As long as there are grandparents there will always be love in the world.
On the brown frame I used my stanley knife and scrapped the edges, you can use tools like edge distresses, I think thats what they are called, but my stanley knife worked just as good.

Now the second layout is also for Ready Set Scrap, their Ebony & Ivory Challenge. We had to use black as the main colour and add red & brown.

Here is my layout of my son riding his bike for the first time without training wheels.

I used our new Teresa Collins PP and coredinations Cardstock.
Buzz and Bloom Chipboard Arrows inked then sprayed with Granite Glimmer Mist.
2 Bike charms
The letters for the title I found in my stash - unknown origin
The tree I hand cut from clipart and covered with Dimensional Magic
My cute little snail at the bottom is sizzex cut core dinations cardstock coated with Dimensional Magic.
The cardboard which was ripped and a coating of chocolat de creme glimmer mist added.

Sorry about the photography of the layout but with the bad weather we are having here at the moment the lightening isn't so crash hot.

I now have 2 layouts and 1 card to do this weekend for the CC over at the scraplounge so some more layouts will be on the way.

Have a fun and creative weekend everyone.

Tracy

PS Stocks are low on the glimmer mist but more will be in store by the end of May - farout Brussell Sprout that's next week!!!!

I met Shell and Nat through Ready Set Scrap, they are 2 awesome ladies, (and they even understand my blondeness and rambling somedays). 1 layout completed and I am feeling horrified

Okay so the title is a bit weird but this posting is in two parts - firstly my layout. Over at the scrapbooking Top 50 they have had a Mothers Day Cyber Crop running for the past week and thankfully you have until next Wednesday to complete the challenges (this one took me 4 days!). I have only managed to complete 1 layout so far and the criteria was to use this quote in your layout

A mother is she who can take the place of all others but whose place no one can take

Love the quote. So for my layout I decided to scrap all the females in my family (blood related) who are either mothers now, and with my sister and my DD who will be mothers in the future (god help us, just kidding Alyce - but I do want a niece!)

On the Buzz and Bloom chipboard letters, I inked first then applied 3D crystalina kindy glitz. I also used it to add water droplets on the flowers. On the larger flowers I just used the normal crystalina kindy glitz.

To centre the flower is our Made With Love charm, eye pin, blue organza ribbon and a button.

The flower was white and the lace brown but I sprayed them with pink taffy glimmer mist. I know glimmer mist has been out for a while and I'm obviously a little slow on the uptake but I am making up for not having this awesome product sooner - over quarter of a bottle has gone already (only had it for 5 days) as everything I touch these past few days has been sprayed. It leaves such a beautiful shimmer as you can see by the next photo (I hope) where I have sprayed it on the ripped edges of the pink paislee paper. The beads are our 13" glass round beads, which I have finally used as a strand and not as individual beads.

Up the top left hand corner I folded the pink paislee papers and held them down with our petite silver frame charms , organza ribbon again and flowers. Top flower was white, and you know what I did with that one! and the bottom flower I left alone but did ink it. You might be able to see a small bit of blue glimmer mist that I have sprayed around the edges.

Okay so why am I horrified?

Well over at the Scraplounge each day a scrapbooking question of the day is asked.

Now last week we were asked if anyone has used kindy glitz then the following day asked if anyone uses Dimensional Magic.

Yes I am giong to name and shame you young lady! Well, KYM admitted out loud that SHE HAS NEVER USED EITHER PRODUCTS!!!!

Now to me thats like the Pope not saying his morning prayer! Truly I was mortified, horrified to say the least, in fact I don't think I can express what I thought - lost for words! So my dear Kym, in your order that I am posting to you today I am also enclosing a couple of samples I quickly made up for you late last night, not stunning but they show you what you the effects that they can product!

The black flower has just been sprayed with granite glimmer mist
Black kindy glitz on the chipboard frame
3d kindy glitz on the flowers
The key has been inked white (couldn't find an ink to match teh flower sorry Kym)and dimensional magic applied. Also a small drop of DM was applied under the charms to stop them from moving.

Now if there is anyone else out there who doesn't want to be named and shamed LOL, in your next order let me know and I will send you a couple of small samples using these 2 awesome products.

TFL everyone

Happy Mothers Day

Happy Mothers Day to all you mum's out there. How does she do this - silly me - she's a women!!!

For mothers day I requested that the angels to do as they are told and I didn't want to hear them fighting! Woo hoo I got my wish they are off to dads for the day (they don't see him from one month to the next so I can't deny them the opportunity when it arises) yipppeeeeee so that means I also got my third wish - for them to leave me in peace so I can scrap with all the new goodies that have arrived in store.

Hope you all got what you wanted

Monday Layout link and a quick funny

Good Monday Morning

Thanks for everyone who voted for me at the Scraps of Us, late last night I had 2nd most votes. This morning discovered that I wasn't in the top 10 and obviously the Design Team was involved in the final decision. Love the sketch we had to work with but oh well ho hmm moving on...

Thought I would direct you to the gorgeous Tracey Hunter's blog who has completed a layout using our felt frames. Maybe its that "e" her name that gives her such amazing talent, damm you mum NO BARBIE DOLL and NOW NO E IN MY NAME to blame you for ROFL

Hope everyone is having a fab day and here's a just quick funny for the day that our fab Kym from the scraplounge sent my way.

THE AMISH ELEVATOR

An Amish boy and his father were in a mall. They were amazed by almost everything they saw, but especially by two shiny, silver walls that could move apart and then slide back together again.
The boy asked, 'What is this, Father?'

The father (never having seen an elevator) responded, 'Son, I have never seen anything like this in my life. I don't know what it is'.

While the boy and his father were watching with amazement, a fat old lady in a wheel chair moved up to the moving walls and pressed a button.

The walls opened and the lady rolled between them into a small room. The walls closed and the boy and his father watched the small circular numbers above the walls light up sequentially. They continued to watch until it reached the last number and then the numbers began to light in the reverse order.

Finally the walls opened up again and a gorgeous 24-year-old blonde stepped out.

The father said quietly to his son ....... 'Go get your mother.'

Who is your favourite Legend?

Voting closes Monday 4th May for round 1 of the Legends of Scrap Competition.

If you go to this link Scraps of Us , you will see the entries for the competition. It is in a forum like format, so you need to scroll through the 7 pages of chat and entries. It is interesting though as there is a variety of layouts and a few ladies from around the world have entered.

After looking through the entries if you want to vote, please don't choose me if you don't think mine should go through to the next round (I know some of you lovely ladies would do so and thank you for that xox) whilst I would love to carry onto the next round I want to because of my layout. So after viewing the entries head over to the main page (link up the top) and it will list everyone who has entered. Shazza who hangs out at RSS has also entered - good luck girl :). Just scroll down to my post here on the 24th April to see my entry.

Hope everyone is having a fab weekend, and to all you ladies in NT and Qld enjoy the extra day off work you have because of Labour Day / May Day.
