Velvet Ribbon Head Bands

Velvet Ribbon Head Bands

With only 2 lengths of velvet ribbon with silicone swirl you can make at least 2 gorgeous flower headbands that any little girl will adore.

You will need: 1/2m of peach velvet ribbon and 3 pieces (about 10cm each) of Deep Pink, some elastic and 2 angel in heart charms and a little tulle if you want.

Just check my Echo Park Springtime blog post for how to make the ribbon flowers. Instead of a brad I used a little button in the centre of each flower (it hides any messes, LOL!) and you sew them directly on the velvelt ribbon.

I added a little angel in heart charm hearts on both ends (sew slightly under the flower to hide the loop). If you want to you can gather up a little tulle and sew it under the ribbon.

Before you sew the ribbon ends together grab a child of your choice (preferably a girl!) and measure around her head.

You should connect the 2 ends with a little piece of elastic to help it sit comfortably.

Already done! Now sit back and enjoy your little princess.

Have a great day

Echo Park Springtime

with Geli

Hi everyone

I can't help marvel at how my youngest daughter Leah can see the fun in a rainy, rainy summer.

To scrap this cute photo of her singing her little heart out in the rain I used the Echo Park Springtime collection.

The colours are chirpy and fun, exactly what I wanted.

I used:

The little tag is a stamp with an Element Sticker  , some teal bakers twine  and a sweet little rainbow charm

Did you know you can sew the felt embellishments on?
They are lovely and chunky but go through the sewing machine with ease and don't loose their shape. Cool!

No gluey mess.

I made some ribbon flowers from pink velvet ribbon with silicone swirls.
The swirls are perfect for shiny petal accents.

Here's how:

Slip stitch nice and even along one edge of the velvet ribbon as shown. I used a length of 6 waves.

Pull tight and sew ends together with a few small stitches and finish off with a glitter brad

Cluster them together with a few mulberry leaves  and you're done!

They are cute and tiny and will only take a few moments to make.
Have a great, wonderful day!

Cards with Echo Park and Bo Bunny arrives

Cards with Echo Park
by Wendy
A couple of cards using the gorgeous Echo Park For the Record papers  ... I am absolutely loving this month with these papers AND one of my favourite new products – the Charcoal Black Bakers Twine!

OK - take your snowflake core dination cardstock - cut your card to the desired size. I have used a die to cut this card but it could be hand cut by tracing around some scalloped paper or cardstock (I know how good a lot of you out there are at fancy cutting!!! Just awesome!) or you could just use a normal shaped card.

Choose your papers - the Echo Park For the Record papers have some great papers in the range that on one side have four 6x6 patterns on them ... excellent for card makers as they are just the right size and the actual patterns are slightly smaller.

I love using 6x6 papers when I am card making and Tracy has a gorgeous Webster’s Pages Spring Market Yacht Club & Country Estate 6x6 paper pad in the store, you really should check out, awesome value for 36 double sided papers.

Oops a bit sidetracked there ... Back to the card LOL – I’ve used ‘Picket Fence’ and  ‘Vintage Linen’ for my red and black papers and a border from the ‘Borders’ sheet.  Then using good old eyelets (which everyone has in their stash!! Right?!?) and some Charcoal Bakers Twine I made 3 pennant/flag shapes! In the middle of each pennant, I used some letters from the ‘Alpha Cardstock Stickers’ to spell out, YOU. I finished by using some more of the alphas to make JUST FOR (love this red alpha) and ‘hand stitched’ around it in black pen! and Voila! You’re done!

Celebrate

My second card is again using the Echo Park For the Record papers and snowflake core dinations.

For this one I have used the green pattern on the ‘Vintage Linen’ paper and a strip of  the ‘Newsprint’ paper across the middle of the card. The loopy border is from the ‘Alpha Cardstock Stickers’ and so is the ‘Celebrate’ sticker , which I have mounted on board and covered with Dimensional Magic.

The circle is a cardstock circle, which I have covered in Charcoal Bakers Twine and mounted onto another die cut fancy circle. I have to say these Bakers Twines are seriously cool ... love them!!

Sassfras Lass and new arrivals

Starting off with me first today, Tracy,
before I let Jess lose on ya PML

I used the Sassfras Starters range on this layout, nice easy papers ... one side being quite netural and the other side with a dash of pattern

I loved using them ... a mixture of subtle colours and patterns that isn't too overpowering

I used Prologue as my base and cut up Intro for my layers and tags ... the photo on the website which I got from Sassfras doesn't really show the correct opposite side of Intro which has musical notes all over it ... that isn't very clever of them!

Behind all the layers I added our Black Star felt ribbon and using pieces also on the layout edges (currently on sale for $2.10)

and what music themed layout isn't complete without our ...

and

PS ... only 7 days left of our charm sale

I added one of our new products ... Ball and Chain to the journaling tag ... great embellishment for the boys

The black chipboard letters I covered with Black Soot Crackle Paint

NEW ARRIVALS
Here are a few of our new arrivals ...more colours are on our website in the new arrivals section

and some IRL photos

Hey Hey Hey : )

Soooo I've got two shares for you today.....Using my most FAVE brand of pp.....Sassafras Lass!

There isn't one range from Sass that I haven't completely loved....it's all just so YUMMO!!

OK first up is a bit of a crazy busy lo!

I've used Sass - Ellie's Tale ......which I'm so in love with!
I made the background by taking all the letters out of the Scrapware Large Impact Alphas Chippy and used it as a mask to spray some Glimmermist over! And because it's a near impossibility for me to leave something "as is"......I doodled around the letters.....

I doodled (again) on some Scrapware Arrow Photo Anchors then added some Bling baby!!

I'm really loving Twine around Buttons at the moment...

I cut some clouds out from the Sass.....LOVE them....so whimsical : )

Hokey Pokey....next up is.....a GIRLY lo....Shocking I know.....I managed to get my hands on a photo of my BEAUTIFUL niece!

I just had to use some bling....so I popped on a my2angels sweet design Bling Word.....

I used a Scrapware Chipboard 4 Flourish, stamped it with an Emboss it Clear Ink Pad, then embossed it with some Zing Embossing Powder....Oh and can you see the Hambly Transparency layered under there.....

Lastly...I've been dying to use this Scrapware Audrey Mannequin!! I covered it In Sass.....which I also made the skirt out of....Added some Velvet Ribbon & Lace, popped on a bit of Bling & VOILA a pretty party frock.....Oh and I can't forget to tell you about the fab Flowers & Cute Button!!!

And there you have it LOVELY ladies : )

Echo Park, a bit of Romance and TPC has arrived

More Echo Park ‘For the Record’

From Wendy

I think I already said this but I’ll say it again ... these papers are SO me!!! Love them! These photos are my son and his friend on a ‘school’ swimming lesson, learning life saving at the beach ... nice eh?!?!

Again using the black and white patterns I’ve  started with some Snowflake Core dinations White and Nightfall Core dinations cardstock as a background and added pieces of ‘Newsprint’ and ‘Advertisement’. I then added my 3 (yes 3!!) photos and machine stitched them to the page.

I just had to put a photo of the famous Indiana’s Tea House clock on the photo!!

The alphas and the word stickers, again, are from the FABULOUS Alpha Cardstock stickers so is the spiral border sticker I have used.

The photo corners and date sticker are from the Element Stickers sheet  and the black phrases are from the Noteworthy sheet.

Next I am going to share some cards ... already done 1 using the new black bakers twine (very cool) will share soon!
TFL

and from Lisa

When I saw these gorgeous black flower rhinestone chain I could visualise exactly how I was going to use them on this layout.
They are simply stunning on any romantic page and they surely pop out!!

With the black and white gardenia I have also added a bit of bling.  I have used Tim Holtz Black Diamond Stickles.
This is so beautiful once it has dried.  And you only need a small amount.

I have used one of my2angels blank pins and used just a small glue dot and placed a cute flying bird charms on it for a romantic effect to go with my page.

and we received our order of TPC Studio today

As requested we have Grandma's Attic (last year release but a great heritage paper collection)

and Heartfelt Travel

OMG these are so much better IRL ... I wanna stop what I am scrapping and start with creating with these!

Heartfelt Travel is a gorgeous collection of denim blue, burnt reds, white wash with stripes, florals, lace and maps ...not just for your travel creations but PERFECT for your boy layouts also (THEY ARE MUCH DARKER THAN THE PHOTOS ON THE WEBSITE SHOW)

They are the perfect colours for my DS rugby league layouts

We also have adhesive fabric sheets
postage stamp stickers and domes to embellishment these papers

AND finally

WHO ON EARTH WOULD LET THESE WOMEN OUT ????

I had the most awesome weekend with Mel, she is as gorgeous IRL as online and I am sure those who follow this wonderful lady's blog will feel her love and warmth come through and that is exactly how she is ... oh with a dash of crazy in there LOL

We stayed up till 2.30am and woke with no hangover despite a few wines or two
And as for Nate what a cute little man he is ... Sarah fell in love with him (I think the feelings were mutual) and being the mother hen that she is, fussed over him all weekend

and yah for us Ann (aka Raggedyann) popped over so they got to met for the first time as well (thankfully Ann's hubby brought a book with him LOL cause we cramped 3 years of online chatting in 1.5 hours)

Ann with her serious look on!

Hope you all have a fantastic day
TFL and don't forget go and check out the new TPC
